Latest AYR Audio report - Sherbrooke Forest Victoria

An encounter from 1970 with a detailed description. Considering this encounter happened 50 years ago it is obvious that the personal impact was enduring.

We seem to hear that A LOT ....

Moving with a 'Gliding Motion' is another statement that keeps reoccurring.

That was a very intriguing account. Clearly and intelligently described with a lot of emotion tossed in. I pricked up my ears when the witness described the creature using "sound as a weapon”.

There is a new TV series called ‘Expedition Bigfoot’ on Foxtel. There have only been a couple of episodes to date and it seems to be a big improvement on ‘Finding Bigfoot’ with a greater emphasis on technology.

Last week I watched as a hunter described how he was up a tree in a stand when a group of pigs came running by. Suddenly a Bigfoot appeared, roared loudly at the pigs and they fell over, obviously stunned. The Bigfoot grabbed a piglet, threw it over his shoulder and walked away, glancing up at the hunter as he did.

It seems quite possible that focused low frequency infrasound is a hunting weapon of choice for both Bigfoot and Yowies.

That gliding motion i think comes from economy of motion. Try walking over loose sand at the beach with your knees bent and a forward tilt to your posture. With a slight increase of thigh strength its very efficient and much more economical. I keep watching expected say patties gate in the gimlin film is impossible for a human. Bs try it over uneven terrain one day and youll see with a bit of fitness its natural and you'll naturally do the exact same thing. Its a smooth motion with a lowered center of gravity. Head stays at tye same height like youre "gliding" and you continuously fall forward with knees bent moving efficiently. You also can see soldiers do the same thing with some of their combat gaits when they hold their weapon in a high ready position. Its not impossible and normal hominid locamotion.

I knew a navy seal who was six three weighed close to 270 pounds and built like a bear and he would move absolutely silently across rickety old wooden floors that squeaked at the slightest disturbance at my old apartment building. He'd glide past like a silent ghost walking down the hallway and the movements were second nature to him. Humans make bad observers particularly in the bush where were out of our element. If trained humans can do just about everything yowies are said to do im pretty sure a creature that's survival depends on stealth and expert bush craft can do all the things described in this video .

Hi Bassplayer. Various reliable people have reported the gliding OFF the ground. Still doesnt mean the yowie is supernatural. Could be a physical capability they have perfected over the last few million years or so.

Maybe if humans didnt rely on our technology so much we would eventually be able to do this and other amazing things. Or maybe we used to?

Hey Searcher i reckon your onto something with the infra sound or something similar. The roar is certainly is like a physical blow and would be easy to run and grab or attack someone or something while they were stunned. Apparently lions can incapacitate their prey the same way. Doesnt seem like that on tv though.

I agree with you Dean.

To be fair I've only heard a report or two describing yowie/sasquatch as literally hovering off the ground while traveling. You have a much wider exposure to the reports of this type of locomotion by witnesses.

Question for you.

Do they say that it appears like the yowies are articulating their legs as if running on air when they do this hover glide type motion. Or are the legs stiff as if ice skating across the air.

For how far a distance are they seen to be doing this. Short distances a few meters or for quite a long ways.

What are the light conditions for some of the instances you can think if off hand. Night, day but in the shadow of the forest growth or canopy. Are there at times obstructions such as bushes disrupting the witnesses views? or have some of these accounts been with the animal in direct sunlight out in the open where the feet are clearly visible or not caused to create optical illusions or confounding of the eyes ability to track things by the creatures interrelation with the patterns of the background when the witness observes or focuses on the creatures feet.

Curious too.

I have thought that leaping with low legs and focussed upper body would seem like gliding over the terrain.

I have this other vision of a perfectly still Yowie sliding around like in a video game or the Shooting Stars/Into Space music video (YouTube it) which is probably not what people are thinking admittedly...

As for disappearing, the video in this link is an interesting example. Some of discussion in the thread too.

I think camouflage is a more apt description in this video you can still follow the chimp until it '' disappears'' humans have reported Bigfoot disappearing right in front of their eyes from a point-blank range no camouflage involved.

Just offering a suggestion, ie that they can likely blend in very quickly and easily, though they look fairly relaxed - there doesn't seem to be a lot of urgency.

When somebody says, paraphrasing, "Just disappeared before my eyes" we are speculating about the conditions, time, the cover available, if somebody is distracted... With full respect to the witnesses, is there some exaggeration to highlight that they were quickly gone, or is it less than the click of fingers? We can only speculate.

Another option of course... Have you read Hunt for the Skinwalker?

Hi aaq,
Some witnesses have stated they disappeared instantaneously others have said in a puff of smoke. No, I haven't read Hunt for the Skinwalker must check it out.

Hi Searcher,
To be truthful my enthusiasm for Bigfoot shows has been tempered somewhat after that ultra annoying Finding Bigfoot and laughable shows like Mountain Monsters but this Expedition Bigfoot is quite an improvement but as I said because of my disinterest I failed to record the first couple of episodes.
The series does present some acknowledged well-credentialed people like Russell Acord. Dr.Mireya Mayor (Anthropologist), Bryce Johnson, Ronny Le Blanc a well known American tracker who said Bigfoot encounters occur in areas of spiritual significance like cemeteries or areas that have seen a large amount of death nothing there new to me though same can be said for Yowies.
Last week's episode ''The Nests'' had some points of interest although I can't see the same amount of enthusiasm in finding Bigfoot lairs as they apparently do. Russell Acord's find of a dead hawk nearby the nest was because it has some significance towards the end of the show. He also said that a large creature was alongside him he could hear it, sense it and feel the impact on the ground it was getting closer until it was right there in front of him, and when it disappeared it shocked him once again no surprise to me.

The most thought-provoking part of the episode is when Bryce Johnson interviewed Mel Skahan a forest management worker with 25 years of experience and a respected member of the Yakama tribe. He said the ape-like man is considered sacred to his tribe and in 1974 ( I think) he found a Bigfoot nest and produced pics. He looked through this lair and found hairs which he collected then admitted he didn't realize what he had gathered and how far it was going to take him (visually upset).

After three weeks strange things began to happen to him and his co-workers like shaking violently it was then the Shamans told him you have to do something to remove this from you so he took everything he had collected in a sack and returned it. Mel couldn't believe it when he got back to his car and found hawk feathers under his windshield wipers a sign to him that everything was okay a reference to the hawk feathers found by Russell Acord near his nest find.

Dr. Mayor collected samples in the lair that Acord had discovered and said with the new advanced technology it would identify any creature that had been in contact with the nest but she was warned by Mel Skahan to be very careful when you are out there because if you take anything of theirs they will want it back. They want it back and you have to give it back and he warns if you don't they are going to attach something to your family- they are watching you.

Mel Skahan's account was the most interesting to me for obvious reasons known to everyone the rest of the show was just run of the mill Bigfoot supposition but much better than the previous TV series I have mentioned. :P

I watched the latest episode of Expedition Bigfoot: Red Eyes at Night. The experts were talking about the possibility that Bigfoot use infrasound. The crew took a recorded supposed Bigfoot howl to a world-class audio engineer to have it analysed the technician said it started off like a primate howl but this one was very interesting and different. At the end of the analysed howl, it was recorded as under 20 Hz a level inaudible to human ears so they concluded that Bigfoot may very well use infrasound. but how can you take any of these academics seriously? They came across what they believe to be a Bigfoot footprint indented into the mud didn't proceed with the plaster cast instead they bring out the latest more efficient high tech 3D equipment to build up a more accurate profile sends the image off to Dr Jeff Meldrum to await his expert opinion. Interesting he said but inconclusive whether it was a Bigfoot print or a bear. Hello, were they all suddenly totally preoccupied, absent-minded that they overlooked the big question why was there only one footprint and no others visible? When they make blunders like that it's a little difficult to accept anything else they have to say.

Hi Senses,

Great to see at least the two of us are checking out ‘Expedition Bigfoot’!

There is little doubt ‘Finding Bigfoot’ has reached its use by date. One of the few good parts was the Town Hall meeting where people would tell about their encounters and then the Producers would re-enact them.

Yes, it surprised me too when Jeff Meldrum could not make up his mind whether the 3D footprint image was from a bear or a Squatch! At least there appears to be new technical evidence on the question of Bigfoot having infrasound abilities. I'm sure they will pursue this angle further.

Anyway, tomorrow’s show, S1 Ep. 5, is called ‘Human Bait’ so I will set the IQ4 to record at the 10.30 pm time slot on Animal Planet. And we will see what it brings.
