Time to move on.
When does what starts as an interest become an obsession?
After discovering a book at my local library when I was 12 ive been fascinated by the subject ever since.
40 years later I'm thinking it's become for me an obsession. (I've got a framed picture of patty signed by Bob Gimlin in my living room?) I've listened to all 600 odd episodes of Satsquatch chronicles, my YouTube page is dominated by yowies and satsquatch. I log in every day to check for any new posts.
Might be time to enjoy my other interests.
Motorcycles, camping, fishing, a few cold ones and the odd hot one.
It's been a great ride and I will find it hard to let go.
Thanks to everyone who posts on this great site. We have our differences of opinion but that's what it's all obout.
After 40 years I'm no closer to an answer.

Re: Time to move on.
Totally get you Blue Dog
I feel I am obsessed and Friends and Family think I am a bit "Nuts" talking passionately about the Yowie, Bigfoot thing
I explain my obsession as - Each day we go to work, pay the bills, pay taxes, take c**p from the boss, Ho Hum
This is outside the box and I feel , Thinker Thunker, Bob Gimlin, David Paulidies, are like extended family
Whenever I am in the Bush, I am looking for signs and also check this site everyday.
I have enjoyed reading your posts, I rarely post stuff, but it is what it is
You can always just have an extended break and come back to it
Good Luck Blue Dog

Re: Time to move on.
Sorry to hear that, bluedog. I think a lot of us understand - broadly anyway, even if not your specific circumstances/experiences.
This is such a controversial, frustrating topic. I guess Luke anything in life, we have to think about what we want out of it.
Do we want someone to grab undisoutable proof?
Do we know, and want to keep learning to gain understanding?
Since we're now aware, do we want to appreciate nature more, with just a tiny bit wondering if somebody else will be there?
Do we want to be the one to get the dash cam video or the ultra sharp photos/video?
It can be extremely time consuming, and if your experiences aren't meeting your expectations, or if people are disengaged and dismissive, it's a bit of a grind.
Life is what it is - other things need your attention, so don't feel bad about that. Enjoy your new focus, and make sure you keep just a bit of the dream alive.

Re: Time to move on.
Bluedog and adventurer I completely agree with you. This subject matter has the ability to completely control your mind if you are not careful and I concur that it had become an unhealthy obsession with me and I know I have stirred dark forces.
Lying in bed at night I would mull over some of the comments and how I was going to answer them completely ridiculous I know and then I would reflect back on what Rusty2 told me there is more to life than stinking Yowies very true.

Re: Time to move on.
When I was a young bloke, I read everything I could find on UFO matters. So many sightings and if only one was true it would
change so many aspects of normal life as we know it......
No internet or videos then. Grew tired of never getting closer to finding proof yet I believed in spite of never seeing one so,
moved my attention to Crop Circles for a decade or so. Same old storey. Even though I visited Wiltshire England and physically
walked in 4 Crop Circles I could never get closer to why they occur. Didnt ever turn my back on them, just stopped chasing info
about them and moved on. Then, after reading Nexus magazine for years, I got interested in Yowies and Bigfoot / Sasquatch and
I am still totally absorbed in researching without trying to infer I am a researcher.
I choose to think I can I be obsessed but still open minded. I too have other interests.
A year ago I had to drive a bloke to his home tucked away in the dense bush above Harvey. I discovered he had been a wildlife
officer for 40 years in the local area. Naturally, I asked him the obvious question and all he would say is that he had twice seen
dead roos with their complete head bitten off and he always wondered how that could happen.
Since then I have seen several other reports of this occurrence.
I appreciate all the postings here as there are not many opportunities to discuss these topics. I have expressed interest in my hobbies
to friends before and found my credibility suffered so its great to be among like minded folk and able to express an opinion without
getting ‘hung out to dry’ as such.
Bluedog, you are on the right track and have made a good decision......stay interested while enjoying your other interests.

Re: Time to move on.
Well hasn't Dean and Bucks thermal footage made it hard to take some time out!
Absolutely amazing footage!
A credit to all involved!
It really is the most exciting evidence presented in years.
I personally believe it's pretty bloody hard to argue against it.
Great work. To Dean and his team Thankyou for 25 years of hard work and perceiverance.

Re: Time to move on.
You called it Dan.
Ive been checking out the site every couple of days.
Like I said Dean and Bucks footage would have to be some of the best evidence we have of yowies.
To much happening at the moment to ignore.
Even though I'm an armchair researcher, I really like to get out and visit sites of encounters and talk to people.
Having lived in both Cairns and the Gold Coast and now Central Qld I've had the opportunity to visit numerous sites in Qld.
Ive heard some good stories in pubs (helps when I wear my AYR t-shirt)
Alot of them might be stories but every now and then I here one that I reakon is the real deal.
One bloke told me about a mate of his who was riding his dirt bike out the back of Kuranda in far north Qld.
His bike broke down on a remote track over looking a rain forest creek.
He reakons while he was waiting for his mates to come back looking for him he watched two hairy people come out of the rain forest and cross the creek below him.
Apparently when his mates got back to him he was pretty shook up.
Another was a from a good mate who owned property in Kuranda surrounded by rain forest on two sides.
He was looking for his dog in the jungle out the back of his place. Down the bottom of a gully beside a creek he felt he was being watched.
On turning around he described seeing the back of a hairy man around 6 foot tall covered in light brown, orange hair walking away from him and disappearing into the jungle.
He was a good mate and certainly not prone to bullshit.
Yeah it's hard to walk away.

Respecting your decision. Many people think I'm crazy too. It just feels so close at times. The breakthrough. I think the new footage is very interesting. Amazing actually. Best wishes to you for the future.
