Big rocks thrown

Unread post by Woodarchie » Sat Jun 18, 2022 10:11 am

Hi all I’m new to this forum but thought I would share what my partner and I witnessed, it wasn’t an encounter but actual rocks (big rocks thrown at us and on the roof of where we were working and staying at Lowmead, Qld near Agnes Waters. One morning we were lying on the mattress and out of the peace and quiet there was two loud rock noises on the tin roof one straight after another, I got up and looked around and there was no one to be seen, the nearest neighbour approximately 600-800m away and then working in the yard the next day a large rock, about the size of a rock melon landed near us and the same, no one to be seen, it freaked us out a bit and we remembered reading somewhere about yowies throwing rocks! Has anyone else experienced this? We did not see anyone or anything around

Hi Woodarchie yes we have had numerous rocks of all sizes thrown our way, some playful and others giving us warning not to venture in further.

The only thing in Australia that we know of that can throw rocks are people but I don't know anyone who could throw a rock the size of a rock melon very far?
Do you have any idea how far and what direction the rock was thrown from? It must have freaked you out having a rock that large thrown at you. Not knowing who threw it and then coming to the realisation that it may have been a yowie!
Lowmead is pretty remote with areas of thick scrub and heavily forested range of hills not to far from Deepwater national Park.
This area has had a few sightings and reports of strange occurrences over the last few years.
The area seems to be a bit of a hotspot.

Hi Bluedog,
The property was on Gorge rd, Lowmead! There was a thick scrub surrounding the property but was at least 300 m away from the north to the south, rocks on the roof landed directly above where we were lying on the north side of house and the large rock the next day that landed near us came from a general north direction as it bounced more towards the south, we had a mini foxie dog with us that barked hysterically while looking towards the NNW direction most of the time we we there, in the direction of the dam

Gday Woodarchie

Three things came to mind when reading through your original post

1. Yowie
2. Poltergeist activity
3. Human unnoticed

Finding out the history of the property my give you some ideas as to what caused the rocks to fall on the tin roof.

Was it a once of stay there or do you regularly visit?

Just some observations.

Woodarchie, welcome to the forum,

did you notice how big the rocks were on the roof? when you were in the yard the next day were you in close proximity to bushland? if you weren't then there is no explanation for a rock that size to land next to you with no one in sight except for a Yowie and dare I say an interdimensional one.

Most of the rocks thrown at us were either from a height or virtually behind or beside us which was very peculiar as we saw nothing. Im leaning more towards a paranormal aspect. We have also had larger rocks thrown our way a while back and you can hear them stalking us as we were leaving a certain area.

Welcome to the forum Woodarchie.
So your saying that the closest scrub or place to throw a rock from and stay concealed was 300 metres away?
Thats crazy! You would need a catapult to launch a rock that far!
I'm sure that if you could get some of the locals to talk you would find there's abit of high strangeness going on out that way.
I have kayaked along way up Deepwater Creek, the water up there runs almost black at times from the dirt and tannins from the swampy ground and scrub lands.
The whole time I was kayaking and fishing there we felt uncomfortable, it's a spooky place!
If you search the sites you will find a couple of reports from the Deepwater creek, Fingerboard road area.
I don't know what or how those rocks came to be thrown at you but it sure sounds strange!
Keep us posted as Dion asked it would be interesting to get an insight into the history of the area and if others have had any strange experiences.
Probably hard to get them to talk about it.

We were working there, only there for a week and the rock throwing happened on the 2nd and 3rd day. The nearest scrub was about 300m away with some small citrus trees close to the house

Hi Woodarchie,

I used to live across the road from a park with huge pine trees, At certain times during the year the Cockatoos fly in to the pine trees and carry off pine cones which at times, they accidentally drop as they flew over houses, These pines cones can make an awful bloody racket on a tin roof......Were you able to climb on to the roof to see if the rocks might have been still up there or might have rolled off into the yard?

Also wondering if the work you were doing may have involved something like digging up the environment? You never know with these things.
