Tips On Hunting Yowies
G'day, i live in WA and am interested in hunting yowies. (Not in a harming way of course but just to discover one). I have heard about places such as Waneroo and Yanchep having common sightings and they are the closes hotspots to me. So i don't even know where to start. Knock trees, look for footprints. Would really appreciate some feedback. Cheers-Finn

Hi Finn , footprints will be the easiest thing to find . Just start looking . Dust , mud , sand , dirt . Take a video camera , tape measure and some plaster in case you do find something extraordinary , ya never know what you'll find .
If you do find something , document it . If you find more than one footprint then measure from heal to heal between the prints , photograph and write everything down or record the measurements . Footprint length , width , step length .
Good luck . : )

Honestly mate, no mater how new you are to this we are all 100% equil, the only advantage some might have is bush knowledge, noticing odd things in the bush thats out of place like a large branch wedged into trees but it hasn't fallen from any surrounding trees, general animal knowledge is also a big help in my opinion, that helps with markings on trees, scratchings and smells (foxes have a distinctive smell if the fox sleeps in burrows but foxes that sleep in trees as some do will hardly smell at all, you will know cat piss when ya smell it aswell. I dont do calls or tree knocks, i mainly look for tree brakes, bends and trees placed in a x shape. Ive found structures but one that really stood out was a tree completely upside down.. check out a structure i found on YouTube, my channel is Aussie Crypto. Mainly stuffing around with my daughter but some strange stuff is in the videos.
Cheers mate and please stay safe on your adventures
