Gulliver's Travel's is thought to be a source on the name we now know as the Yowie. He called them "Yahoo's". Just an interesting tidbit i've found out, David Berkowitz (the son of sam murders) references to them in one of his letters back in 1976.
I don't know if anyone else will find this interesting or whatever, but I do find it rather interesting, a serial killer referencing Yowie's in letters when he was in the States. If anyone could possibly track the quote down, i'd love to see it.
Interesting find.. of sorts.

gday dp
i read the biography of daniel boon over christmas, and he also made reference to the yowie creatures in gullivars travels to explain the animal he had encountered and shot in his lone explorations into the wild frontier in the kentucky area, i found it a very interesting read.
