SARA - UFOs
Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd let you know the Society for Anomalous Research Australia, with which I have some involvement, has now joined Facebook, and is actively recruiting people with a serious interest in UFOs and the paranormal.
SARA puts out a quarterly journal, The Phenomenologist, the second of which is due out next week and features articles on ghosts, UFOs, research, possession and much more. UFO articles include a summary of the NT UFO flap, an historic article on UFOs and a piece on common false IDs in relation to UFO phenomena. Well worth a look.
SARA also organises field trips and research projects. Many of its members have a science background and have published material in peer-reviewed journals and popular publications.
You can visit the website at http://www.sara.org.au
Cheers,
Ruby

Re: SARA - UFOs
Was SARA formely known as The UFO Society of Sydney. Because that organisation and website has recently gone missing in action?

Re: SARA - UFOs
Not sure if I`m totally convinced this is not a splinter group from the UFO Society of Sydney Mike even though you seem to think its not. I signed up (paid money) to receive the UFO Society of Sydneys magazine or newsletter which was also called Phenomenon (same name as the new organisation SARA - coincidence? I think not) and now they`ve disappeared. The UFO society of Sydney was previously known as a different group - something like the Western Sydney UFO Research? Its website also suddenly disappeared and about six months later they reemerged as the UFO Society of Sydney with a different website. Not sure whats going on with this group in regards to the continual chopping and changing - its probably not the best practice in regards to keeping members? Thought I`d just make people aware before they start subscribing to newsletters and end up getting burnt like myself through their sudden disappearance! It makes me appreciate AYRs website and the work that the forum moderators do to keep this site on the web. Good job.
Steven 47. You might want to try contacting other sources as well. Australian organisations do not always have the time, manpower or resources to study every claim as they are primarily volunteer organisations. You might want to try to get in contact with MUFON in the states. Recently MUFON has received substantial funding through millionaire Bigalow who formely provided funding for research into the Skinwalker case. This is pretty exciting as rarely do paranormal organisations get significant financial support like this.

there wa s an outdated page on the net with all the ufo resch group contacts in it unfortunately some of the emails i think dident work like the one for brian richards of the ufo reserch group in perth it dont work so i think that group has vanished off the radar to , so we have no group in perth that can be contacted mary rodwell is in perth but its not clear what she dose as her sight wasent so informative on ufos let alone alien abductions .

Re: SARA - UFOs

I dont think its not...I know its not.Mike even though you seem to think its not.
I formed S.A.R.A with Rebecca...99% of the people in it are friends of ours..
AS far as I am aware...none of the members of S.A.R.A were ever in any of the groups you are talking about...
We are not "just" interested in ufo`s anyway..that would too boring...

Also?...our magazine is called "The Phenomenologist"..go to our web site and look at the cover..I bet a million $$ their newsletter was not laid out properly..I signed up (paid money) to receive the UFO Society of Sydneys magazine or newsletter which was also called Phenomenon
That ufo group had a newsletter called "Phenomenon"...(same name as the new organisation SARA - coincidence? I think not)
I only know this because this is what you are telling me.
And our magazine is called the "The Phenomenologist".
So what..??
Then contact attila kaldy from Western sydney ufo research and find out what happened to your money/newsletter...ask for a refund..and now they`ve disappeared. The UFO society of Sydney was previously known as a different group - something like the Western Sydney UFO Research?

Re: SARA - UFOs
Thanks for the clarification Mike. Nothing quite like getting it straight from the horses mouth so to speak! lol
Their magazine was called "The Phenomenon Times". Due to the use of Phenomenon in both magazines and due to their history of breaking up and reforming under a new name and website I was querying whether they were related in some way! But alas - you have now set me straight and I know they are definitely not! lol (They also studied multiple subjects such as hauntings. I can send a copy of their newsletter to your email address if you like just so you know what they were all about).
Good luck on your new organisation. I scoured the website and it looks like a good set up. All the best.
