DO YOWIE'S SNEEZE !

With Autumn now upon us and winter soon closing in , what if any resistance to common diseases such as the Flu / Cold and the various other associated infections do our not so well housed hairy Cousins have ? .

Is it possible in the coming months to perhaps locate these creatures out in the wild , by simply listening out for the train like roar of a Yowie's sneeze ! or the thunderous rumblings of a congested huge drum like chest cavity ? .

I bear a thought for these unfortunates when I snuggle up at night with a warm house , slippers and a pipe of port , I am sure that they are well adapted to the cold and grow a winter coat even , but I have spent nights camped out in the Ebor nsw region in the middle of winter that would freeze the walls of a brass church [ cleaned up version ] and so know a little of what they must endure .

Are these creatures susseptable to our human borne diseases any way , or is it that they have developed an immunity to these common irritations ? , these questions are many albeit relevant given the time of the season in which we are now in . I have no medical knowlege either from a human or vetrinary point of view so it would be excellent to have an educated answer before brewing a guess , although all theroies are just a brew of guesses .

Oh boy, some interesting lateral thinking there. Well, for a start, Yowies have nice hairy coats unlike us naked human being who need clothes to keep warm. Okay, okay, I hear the whispers... some humans have hairy coats too, but...

Who is to say that their coats don't have some sort of inbuilt weather protection? For example, have a look at ducks, their feathers have waterproof oils and when wet, the water rolls off them rather than sinks and stays on their skin for too long.

And the Aussie humble possums, the kangaroos and koalas. Even the rats seem fine. They must have some sort of inbuilt protection. Not insunuating they can't catch colds. I don't know that. Interesting concept to research this a bit more.

Anyway, I live in Yowie territory. There are signs in the gullies which say stuff like, 'Beware Yowie Country'. When I remember next and am lying there sleepless at night, when all is quite and the sounds of silence echos, I'll keep an ear out for the roar of these Yowie sneezes. I'll get back to you if I hear it. Ok?

Over here, even the mention of Bigfoot usually draws ridicule, and Bigfoot itself is an extremely controversial topic.

Don't be so quick Ella... I don't think too many people on this forum are open about their yowie fetishes!

Hmmmm....I was basing that assumption on the thread about the Yowies around the car races a while back. Nobody there seemed to care one way or the other. Of course, Americans at car racing events would probably do the same...some people here are obsessed with car races, and would just say "Yeah, right" and go on about their business.
