NSW Department of primary Industries-Mystery Big Cats

Unread post by Mike Williams »

New name-"Industry & Investment NSW"
After Bauer`s "technical expert opinion"1999, Atkinson Report 2003 and Atkinson 2008 Report(draft) Cutter 2009 white wash of the 2008 'draft'..the sole response from the department was to create one web page and cut and past a series of animals on to a chart for people to be able to tell the difference between a house cat and a Lion.

Wow..they must have been exhausted..
They then talk about footprints..
But they cannot be bothered showing a large felid print and send the visitor to another site.
Then this gem..

"Hair and scat (faeces) samples can also be used to identify animals in an area. Seek advice from a veterinarian on how to collect these and where to send them."

Its interesting how they are now suggesting Joe public collect hair and scat, but instead of wasting the departments 'valuable' time, Joe Public should go to the local vet, and ask him where to send it.
Like the Vet would know or care where Joe Public sends the samples.
Geez...

That's funny, I never would have guessed the difference between a lion and a house cat. Very informative and useful article. (ninja)
