Tracks in the Pilliga Scrub

Unread post by Dion »

What are everybodys thoughts on these tracks, they look Big Cat to me, the stride on the prints is very large, so what ever animal it was has a big gait.

I'd never claim expert status, but I answered this over on Facebook and didn't realise it had also been posted here.

So let me re-post what i said there:

OK, drum roll....we say macropod! At time code 0.20 you see the best print. I'd say a small wallaby. They often hop and land with their feet together. It's a bit hard to make out in most of the shots as the sand is soft and doesn't really hold the prints well. You're actually filming in the opposite way to which it was travelling by the looks of things, which does put them out of context slightly. At first glance I was thinking blobby dog prints, until we sat back a bit and tilted our heads.

Cheers,
