I dont know how you guys do it

Unread post by Rastus »

Although I have a a passing interest in the paranormal I just cant bring myself to read various ghost forums and the experiences some people have had. Im too scared!! lol. Especially night time I try not to even physically eyeball the "ghost" side of things on websites
(Insert chicken symbol here)

Nothing else freaks me out including night time bushland / jungle etc on my own but ghosty stuff gives me the heebee's.

You are braver than me :)

Hi Rastus..
From my perspective.......if truly terrifying things happened whilst "ghost hunting" then it would validate the subject for me and make me reluctant..probably..to repeat the experience..
But...99.999999% of the time nothing happens.
Zilch..nada...zippo..
Re claims on forums..aside from the 3D`s
Deluded
Deranged
Dishonest
You are then left with a small % of experiences that by and large..happened to people in their normal lives and not whilst "ghost hunting".
Obviously...there are trillions of human hours doing mundane things and very small amounts of human hours in field research...in creepy areas.
"we" would be brave if we were encountering some of things I have seen on tv shows.. (jest)
We dont..ergo (eek)
Personally..I think its braver(and more honest) to admit fears in a public forum..than people who big note themselves and their experiences..
I have had people come up to me at an old TB hospital and "demand" the phenomena to appear and then strut around with their girlfriends telling everyone this is easy..but they are with a group of 20 people.
We are all brave in large groups.
The bigggest scare I have ever had was when i was at the Hyde Park Barracks in the city ..a few seconds to midnight(big clue there) by myself on the top floor.
The security guard was in his office down below.
I was in the dark leaning against a wall..when the clock struck midnight..
I jumped about 1 metre.. (happy)

It's funny you say Sydney Barracks Mike.
My old man worked there doing guard duty of a night with the ADF.He is on the fence with ghosts. But he does tell me that Sydney Barracks defintely has a ghost.
When he was doing lock-up at night (checking the door's are locked) if he miset one of the doors the ghost would open and close fast repeated twist the handel. My old man then would say ,It's all right mate I'm coming. There was alot more weird stuff I will have to ask him. There was one time he walked through something like a cloud of smoke in the shape of a person .He then turn to look and it was gone.

Hey MrX,
Hyde Park Barracks, if thats where you meant by Sydney Barracks, is haunted. I read a story about a journalist who spent the night about ten years ago. He was woken in the wee hours by the ghost of a red coat banging on the end of his bed telling him to get up, which he did quite rapidly, leaving the building as fast as his feet could carry him. I have experienced a prescence there. It normally hangs around the wooden stairs near the top. He gets his kicks making people feel scared or threatened.
I do alot of after hours service work in buildings in Sydney. You'd be surprised how many have stuff happening that never gets mentioned.
