WHY ARE WE HERE

Unread post by horserider »

Just as the topic title reads... why are we here.. "whoa slam the breaks on this train for a moment... why are we here again? What is the reason for human existence, where did we come from. Is everything an illusion or real??"
why dont we know? Why? Who decided that we shouldnt know & why? :(

I have some of my own positive theories I lean strongly towards but being the analyzer i am sometimes if not all the time i question these theories & everyones theories...

we dont know why we are here, what the meaning of it all is, because we are looking at from a subjective position. The only way we can get an idea of the meaning of existence is to look at it from an objective position (from outside of existence), and/or to see it in context in relation to something else... and neither of those things are logical.

Some people's bubbles may be burst by that notion, but I for one find it invigorating to not know these answers... and to be able to ponder the answers.

I JUST (yesterday) finished a philosophy essay on happiness, which included the issue of whether a person can have a happy life (overall) if they are perpetually deceived, or ignorant - uninformed about those things that may influence their view on reality. Furthermore, where the notion of happiness was to come from, from the subjective only, from an 'objective-list' of what it is to be happy, of from a mixed theory of both.
In theory, one can be happy in the above conditions.

I think you pretty well summed it up about the whole learning thing in another post. Love to know the meaning of life but only if it presents itself.

should we all know the reason (if any)?

learn, love and be positive. Try not to lose sleep over something that wont be resolved until you are dead.

As long as you are happy and enjoy the jourrney (not the end) then you are on the right path.

My 2bob anyway. (claps hands)

i know what your saying guys, & believe me when i say this.. i am happy here, im happy in this life.. but i do keep asking myself why we are here

I have some good theories that keep me happy but sometimes i analyse my own theories & ask again... why are we here, what if my theory or everyones theory is wrong?? you know what i mean??

Than i pull out that thought & go back to my beliefs.. that we are here to be reborn & meet a certain level/criteria for another place... but ... and i say BUT, some of my other theories conflict with this.. & thats when it becomes a "oh, dam what if all my theories are wrong"

Maybe there is no right or wrong theory.. maybe its all an illusion.. maybe in a week Ill go back to my comfort zone : ie reincarnation & here to learn lessons.

Oh dear i DO hope we come back!! Doesnt have to be earth ill settle with any planet so long as we can keep living on!!! (hearts)

I wasnt meaning to make a direct link between the 'why are we here'/'what does it all mean' issue and happiness in particular. Subjective vs objective made me think to mention it... saw a similarity and thought to add a little more.

Jeffa.. summed up the whole learning thing in another post... what are you referring to?

No, I dont lose sleep over any of this... it just fascinates me no end... reason Im now studying it.
Its fun establishing your own theories, I have a few.

Sorry Selkiedarre, was refering to horseriders view that she posted a few weeks back ,sorry I failed to mention that.

Horserider, love the theory about reincarnation and learning etc, but at the end of the day when you learn all that needs to be learnt what then? Evolve into an arc angel, higher being or even a yowie? LOL. Ponder away, its good and healthy to ask questions. :)

hey i love that theory too & do lean strongly, very strongly on that one.. however, being the analyzer that i am i sometimes come up with theories that sound great but conflict with my originals.. this gets a bit heavy because i start questioning everything all over again

But you know what.. at the end of the day, its true ponder away & ENJOY it

(i do enjoy it very much 99% of the time... than when my conflict comes thru i get frustrated bahahahhaaa) 99% is good for me though tee hee

Horserider, we are here to live. It's as simple as that.

If it helps, when I was young, I was advised, "Whatever you do in life, do it to your very best ability."

I like to think we are spiritual beings having a human experience. So that we can feel what it is like to have the illusion of being cut off from everything and everyone. Also to have experiences and intense emotions that will help us (and others out there) learn and evolve not only here but throughout the Universe. (yin yang)

They say that our soul chooses to come here and experience the life we are living.

I dont think its true, if my soul saw this planet it would turn the other way and find a better place.

hmmm im almost with you bump except someone smart must have shown me four legged creatures just as i went to turn my back on it, i was lured in with horses tee hee hee

now there's an interesting question for all:

If you had to say what would have attracted your soul to choose to come here what would it be? (this may be the answers to why we are here...)

It would make sense for me totally as i always say i never felt really alive till i started playing with horses few years ago

For another it may be art, and for another it may be philosophy, or writing, or love, or children..... dig deep & work out what you truely love in this world most (love)

Hmmm good question horserider, ive come up with two answers for that question.

The total reverence i have for the natural world and nearly all the life on it. Im just amazed how everything works in synchronicity. Dont get me wrong, im not some Crazy environmental new age hippie or anything, that's just the way i perceive it.

Now the second answer. To see the world fall to pieces around me. Maybe i did something bad in a past life to be put here. Maybe its just rotten luck.

All i could come up with.

No such a thing as rotten luck!
A test it is! And these rotten moments are the ones we need to grow spiritually!!!!!

Bump a nice #1 answer, nature, love it, synchronicity, beautiful

But sad for the doom & gloom in #2

As there is black, there is white; there is good , there is bad; what goes up, must come down - i believe our journey needs a good balance of everything for us to learn... you said it yourself, synchronicity, well this includes hard times so we can achieve & move forward & UP!!! Balance, gravity, opposites, theyre all here & around us, we have happy we have sad, we have odd numbers on one side of the road, even numbers on the opposite side of the road, when we are at odds we just need to look across the road & remember its not all odds its just the side of the road we're currently on, & say "all will be good" (they happen to be my fav words)

We're all L platers, if we stay in the quiet easy fun streets we'll never get anywhere, we gotta get out on big open roads & take the risk in order to go where we wanna go
Reaching higher spirit levels are those who can understand, accept & master the odds & make the most of them as much the evens, if we fall, we should just get the hell up off the ground, dust your clothes off & go whoopsy shooting blooms happens but im up again & keep marching boldly forward, forward is a great direction... we should never let a fall hesitate the boldness of your walk.. you may be careful & learn from the fall, but walk bold this is where the trickyness lays & this is where we have to say yes well its all a part of it, we know there are risks & this is what can happen, but i dont stop or complain i keep going... & keep marching towards your destinys whilst enjoying every minute

We have all done bad things in our past lifes but we all done good things in our past lives too, we were learning than as we are now... no bad days are a punishment they are a test, a growing opportunity, a moment for us to grasp & say "this is one of those moments where i shall suffer but receive the gift of experience, growing, strength at the end of it"
Character building moments i call them (happy)
