Thought you might like to see these

Unread post by mikka »

Got these in an email and was asked to put these up ... Enjoy 8)
in total thier was half a dozen but half of them where in the water.
This thing had just walked through a fence [no hair worst luck] It has been in the area for a while as the tracks/trails are massive, Apparently a local pig farmer lets his pigs into the creek so it maybe waiting to snatch a pig or two

Wow Mikka, they look fantastic. I hope someone has cast them? Very rare to find quality prints like that.

I would like to know the date and location.

These were a great find to say the least , and the location will be kept under tight wraps for now ! The people involved have really put in the hours to get this far !

Nice print for sure. I just wish these critters would make up their minds how many toes theyve got. 3? 4? 5?

Yeah it is in Qld , south-east . I wasn't the one who found them , though I wish I was !
The area is yowie central at times , but there hadn't been any known activity for some time !
As to why there was no cast made is ,as far as I know , they were not out on a search , so they were unprepared , and it was raining heaverly at the time . When the finder had returned to cast them they were all but gone due to the rain fall !
I'm sure the finder will show more pics and be able to answer questions better then yours truely . They are just have PC problems at the moment !

Great photos guys.

For all your casting needs. These are specialsts in the film & FX industry.

This link will get you a QLD based distributer

http://www.accessresource.com.au/

There are plenty of new products out there to get you out of a jam or prompt new ideas in the field. There's probably something you can do for underwater prints.

Might have been looking for freshwater shellfish, yabbies worms... dropped some money.

Nigel, Jeannie... What about the log or root that seem stripped of bark?

Just a thought about the pictures. If it was consuming the bark off that tree for a meal, it might consume some clay or dirt to leech out any potential toxins.

Macaws and other animals do it. Here's a link

http://www.duke.edu/~djb4/Real%20dirt%2 ... 0licks.htm

I don't know if the root pictures and the clay raking pictures are part of the same series and in the same time frame, but it is food for thought.

Only 3 photo's are ours,
The ones with the duck weed.Found approx.1 to 2 km away from the pics taken from @%$#^& and passed on to us .taken on 7 11 04

Yes Buck we think it may have been after yabbies as the claw marks are beside a log in the creek that it may have been tampering with ..Also impresions where in a few metres of this..

The log in the bush is in the area and we thought it was stepping over it as the fence was just behind it...

We have visited this area a few times and have had no success except for the foot prints thru the duck weed and a few weird feelings from time to time .
The area is mainly farm land with a creek running thru it many miles of country...With lots of dark forested areas along the creek bed...
To anyone who is familiar with sandy creek at Kilcoy well its like that....Miles of country to explore....
Will pass on all the pics we have of 7/11/04 to one and only Mikka to post as havent the time and the pc should be left in a dark part of the forest to rot

The person who we returned to with on this day7/11 that found the footprints wishs to stay in the shadows.
Has been laught at to many times by his mates and cant handle it.

Will be in the area again soon to have a look around .

Cheers
