After your encounter, any unusual sounds at home?

Unread post by Speck »

Hello! New member here with a question for those who have had encounters. This can apply to those who had 'away encounters' or 'home encounters.' After your initial brush with a Yowie did you ever have any odd/inexplicable noises occurring in/around your house or property? If you had a Yowie/Sasquatch around your home, I am not talking about wood knocking, rock clacking, vocalizations, etc. Have you clearly heard a noise or sound that was extremely unusual and out of place for the setting?

(I am from the US-I hope you don't roll your eyes. I've been checking in on this forum for several years, a lot of internet reading/viewing-very curious about what we are all encountering. Would never have thought to look into this except for a few curious happenings around 2009/10. After a serendipitous nudge onto the right path, I have found I AM one of those people who more than likely had a 'typical' experience and am unsure what to make of it all. It wasn't very pleasant at the time and as a result I still have an issue I don't seem to be able to overcome quite yet.)

Very curious to know if you had out-of-place sounds at home.

Hi, yes. Have had "away" encounter with the usual smell, wood knocks and so forth.
But the extremely unusual thing all of us heard which is completely out of character for that area was a noise of a cow mooing--just once, but close and loud.

There are cattle miles away from that direct area and i know noise travels in the outdoors but this was close and weird, and we never came across the cow, nor heard it moving through the bushland, no manure, nothing.
I did google this and read there were 2 encounters of yowies mooing--weird. Dunno??????

Seems that many people have recorded and reported such oddities. Apparently Sasquatch have the ability to mimic all other animals and even machines. A great site for sounds is Stan Courtney.com-he recorded many out-of-place sounds. Bigfoot research (Lady in Waiting) has captured either true conversation or mimicking on her YouTube channel.

Very interesting to hear a 'Moo' without a cow in the vicinity.

Anecdotally these creatures are extremely accurate mimics. What you're describing fits with a number of other eyewitness accounts - please just be careful.

HI Speck. Welcome to the forum. My freind and i heard weird chattering while a twig was being dragged over the tent the night we had an encounter. It was very odd. I think it was the yowie but cant be entirely sure.

I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at. Are you asking if yowies follow people home and make noises at night? Or are you saying something else?

Hey YB, wow i forgot about that, id have to go back on my notes but YES. I remember bringing out a crying baby that moved, i think it was a camp out night.
Another walk on another day we all heard a baby crying in the bush(it was not that bird) it sounded exactly like the plastic baby we had out there previously. If i have the correct day, there were 3 in a triangle that were grunting around us as well.
That seemed so long ago. Going to start back up out there in may (thats when it all started in the winter).

The mimic tactic is very interesting.
Obviously they may think that a human hearing a cow outside their tent may not draw much suspicion.
These guys are very smart. Not much alike commando's in the bush who may use such tactics to communicate with each other when spread out...( I don't know if they actually do that or I have been watching too many movies )

Yes, Thumper. I was asking if you have had an 'away' experience and heard odd sounds at home as well as 'home' experiences. I am curious about 'out-of-place' sounds no matter where they occur. I've read several researcher's reports where they say they have investigated away from home but activity has occurred at their home. I have been fascinated by the sounds, mostly. Not the typical tree knock, etc. My apologies, I can never make myself perfectly clear with my writing. For some reason, the sounds affect me a bit more than most physical evidence.

Adventurer, do you think the choice of a 'moo' was intentionally humorous? Or, just something so out of place that you would definitely notice?

Yowie Bait, I would have found a new camping site if someone was dragging a twig on my tent! HA! Strange chattering is interesting. Whispered? Clearly audible?

I agree with you Chris, I think they are very smart and know very well how to manipulate us.

Must go! Extremely severe thunderstorms rolling through NOW!

Hi the moo was long drawn out moo (like a cow would be in distress). It lingered but only sounded once. It was definitely out of place that we all noticed. Just prior to that noise the 3 of us were standing at the beginning of a bridge and on the other side of the bridge a huge tree got pushed down. We stood for a bit then continued then heard the moo. This is a place we have been many times to now so it was definitely out of the ordinary.Even though one of us thought it was a whooooooo(he said female yowies make that sound). I guess again we will never know. Starting back in may so we shall see if we hear that particular woooo or moooo noise again.

I recall a few times bushwalking out in the middle of nowhere hearing feral cattle (at least I have to assume that what it was!) at night making the most unholy loud and drawn-out baying, sounding like they were being slaughtered!

Oh yes, thats a obvious scenario. Even home bred cattle get out and wonder. As i said there are cattle everywhere just miles from this place. My neighbour has cattle and upon weaning they moo certain months. I do understand.

I hear my daughters cattle wondering through the bush in the day when we are looking for them to round up.
But we couldnt see or hear this one anywhere, not pushing it out of the equation, it was just very strange and 1 lost cow wondering through a national park on its own--would 1 veer of that far away from the heard fence?

It was just odd, there are many odd things out there. Did a baby go crawling out in the bush too??

What gets me if these things do mimic, why do we not hear them say a word in english?

Hi Adventurer...Good point you made why don't they speak.I would imagine if they did speak English it would sound like dogs when they imitate people sort of gutteral speech.Their vocal range seems fairly extensive and according to aborigines they can imitate any animal they hear so why not humans.

A researcher (Lady in Waiting) has captured audio where it sounds like, "Here, kitty, kitty!" but not perfect enunciation. She has also captured what sounds like distant conversation-in the middle of the woods, in the middle of the night. She captures a lot of audio-typical stick breaking, rock clacks, footsteps, etc. Interesting to hear!

Hi Spek,

I just wrote about an encounter I had with a yowie? that made strange sounds - howling noises...this may be something related to your topic? It was an encounter at Basket Swamp, NSW, near Tenterfield.
