Awesome Segment

Unread post by AL Pitman »

Many congratulations must go out to Dean , Rusty and all the other contributors that were brave enough today to speak on ABC radio.
It was very informative and hopefully the average punter may be a little more aware when they are out in the sticks .
Once again well done to all !

Thanks for the link, yowiedan.

Well worth listening to Rusty and then Dean giving evidence for the existence of the elusive Yowie.

Best spot to start is around 1.08.55.

Lost me when they started playing John Butler's Zebra. Seriously though these type of podcasts get us nowhere in the advancement of what Yowie is.
Many people coming forward with a claim of seeing a Yowie and no doubt they did but that's where progress ends and it appears we are still trying to gain acceptance to their existence at the same time making very little headway. That may not change until some physical event involving Yowie occurs and can be verified and witnessed (evidence) by people. There have obviously been instances where there has been Yowie interaction with people usually not ending well and apparently local newspaper reports verify the fact but the question is what can we humans do about the situation? and the answer is nothing.
And of course, the other big elephant in the room getting government and appropriate authorities to acknowledge their reality and unfortunately, that will never happen. So we are all virtually in a Yowie stalemate until such time as they eventually make their intentions known so until then we have to wait. (uh uh)

Oh god how embarrissing .
I thought it was local not state wide . I also didn't realise Dean was being interviewed . I was working on a jobsite with my radio headphones and heard about the broadcast . Kia , started saying "legend" and 'myth" and I thought I'd come in and stomp on that hypothesis ha ha .

Senses , from where I sit there's 2 avenues to pursue or maybe even to convince . Scientific recognition and public recognition .

What I know is that a body of evidence can be as convincing as an actual body . When people hear those calls it seems to trigger an inner response maybe even a primal response . Those people have a physical reaction .
What happens then is they tell someone else and those people tell their friends or mates and it continues . It then becomes a disease and spreads across the country . Witnesses are then encouraged to speak up because they have something tangable to back up their encounter .

Whether a scientist or a member of the public people are people and all have a reaction to something they've never heard before . This moves the yowie community in the right direction , probably slowly but still people in Australia , scientists and the public are becoming aware . :D

Rusty, when you talk on a radio station about Yowies either on country, local or city ststions your known by so many all over Australia that your name or voice will be recognised. Great hearing your chat about our hairy friend.

That was a great segment. Some really interesting folks ringing in. Two people got cut short a bit. The indigenous guy was just starting to talk about the little fellahs

And Rusty. Would have love to have heard his description about his sighting a bit more.

Dean kept it on track and gave out a ton of good information to anyone who’s never heard of one before.

Nice work folks.

Cheers Buck
