Thats a nice little doco. Nice if you could get some funding for a longer one! Great illustrations but what is the origin of that photo of the hairy in the grass? Ive seen it before and always wondered if it was legit. (thumb)

Hey Yowie Bait
That photo has done the rounds for ages, I dont think its legitimate. I believe it originated from the US and is allegedly a dog man. All the tabloid news sights use it as a stock photo.

Cheers

Hi Serena,

From someone who has been part of the TV and video production industry for more decades than he cares to remember... :)

Good to see you 'having a go' in the best Aussie way. I wish you every success with your project.

You asked for feedback about the teaser. Here's one. Never underestimate the importance of excellent audio. The sound mix from about half way through was too heavy with the music making parts of the voice track difficult to hear clearly. A minor point perhaps, but you must aim to be as professional as possible with the finished product. Do you have access to a qualified sound engineer or video editor? They could help you with this.

Also, the polished voice of a expert narrator would help to set up the segments in your video and give extra credibility to the stories. Well worth the talent fee that would be charged. And remember, just about everything in this industry is negotiable!

Hope this advice helps.

Rusty
Your voice and obvious narration skills would be perfect for this .
IF YOU DO NOT LOOK YOU WILL NOT SEE

for this assessment, we were asked to make a 3 minute documentary on our own without a crew and I'm sure you can imagine it's pretty hard to pull off something professional with no help at all. The only person on set I had with me was a soundie on the boom, but for the final product I'm gonna have a crew and a full crew. I specialise in directing, producing and writing, editing definitely isn't my strong point but I'm always willing to learn haha. I go to Murdoch uni and study a screen major so I have free access to so much equipment and great people!
