I think there may be all manner of megafauna still extant across the world.

Plesiosaurs bore live young and may have been warm blooded according to some reports, so if they were actually some form of prototype mammal then there's no reason why they couldn't have survived into the current era.

They certainly have a vast area to hide in if they do still exist.

Ol' Nessie is, as usual, proving to be mighty elusive.

That said, 2017 has recorded nine sightings... a record for this century. And there's still over a month to go.

However IMHO, most of the reports lack real substance. Just like the current crop of Bigfoot and Yowie encounters. I'm still fervently hoping this digital age we live in will someday provide spectacular evidence (preferably video) of these highly elusive cryptid creatures.

According to the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Registry, there have been 1094 recorded sightings of Nessie.

I enjoyed the fact that they're 'sharing the love' by mentioning the 23 other Lochs where mystery animals have been sighted. They could end up with a whole tourist trail there; like the Great Ocean Road, only less hazardous. :)

There's a new search for the Loch Ness Monster... and surprisingly it involves Kiwis and DNA!

Exciting? Of course. However, if they do find unknown environmental DNA samples, they will probably end up like those supposedly from Bigfoot and Yowies. The 'establishment' will simply explain them away. And the skeptics will say..."I told you so!"

Hey Searcher
Yep your def right it will be debunks as per usual.
Some countries like Russia and China/Asian do not or are less likely debunk stuff , unlike our all controlling western governments who treat us like mushrooms by keeping us in the dark and feeding us nothing but bovine excretement....
I put some links below that may interest you.... seems like Loch Ness Monster like critters are not only in Scotland.... perhaps there will be some good hairy person pics/stories from these regions also.../vids

Cheers

Nessie has reportedly been around for hundreds of years and has not gone away in 2020.

Sightings continue to occur and this one is the subject of a 4 minute Sunrise clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpvYGb8O6e0

If you decide to watch it, and that means putting up with David Koch, have a look at the comments below and read the one from 'Willswalkingwest'. Interesting!

Just an update... According to "The Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register" there have been 1128 recorded sightings to date with just 12 being reported in 2020. http://www.lochnesssightings.com/

Good HD video is what is needed. Not bloody still photos... It's so easy on a smartphone to press the video button instead of the photo one. Video is usually at 30 fps. With a photo you get the equivalent of a single one of those frames. It's not hard to set modern phone cameras like an iPhone to record 4k. That's what I'd be doing if I ever get to cruise Loch Ness!

No doubt throughout the centuries from the very moment man ventured out on a voyage of exploration across the oceans there have been many strange and frightening encounters with what they regarded as sea monsters. Most would have been a case of misidentification but then again there were many others they defy an explanation like this one.

Sea Monsters
"On the 6th of July 1734, when off the south coast of Greenland, a sea-monster appeared to us, whose head, when raised, was on a level with our main-top. Its snout was long and sharp, and it blew water almost like a whale; it has large broad paws; its body was covered with scales; its skin was rough and uneven; in other respects, it was as a serpent; and when it dived, its tail, which was raised in the air, appeared to be a whole ship's length from its body."
--Hans Egede, Norwegian missionary, later bishop of Greenland. Nessie was a mere tadpole compared to this one.
Either Hans had been drinking an extremely potent hallucinogenic drug mixed with his rum or he actually saw something inexplicably terrifying,
Just because Nessie hasn't been scientifically ascertained just like his mates Bigfoot/Yowie/Dogman doesn't mean he/she is not out there frolicking around in the oceans, rivers, lochs or where ever takes his fancy.

I remember seeing a sea monster myself when I was four years old (at the movies) it lived in a black lagoon scared the living daylights out of me. (My grandparents had a lot to answer for).

Many passages in the Bible telling us about sea monsters.

Isaiah 27:1 - In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that [is] in the sea.
