Help identifying prints

Unread post by Pepper » Sat Jun 26, 2021 2:30 pm

Just noticed these prints in the mud at my place.
Heavy enough to push the gravel into the red dirt.
Look like a cat to me but I’d like more opinions.
No claw marks in mud.

I might add.
There appears to be 2 sets.
The ones pictured and some slightly larger at 9-9.5cm
Spacing between prints is 45cm.

At first glance I would say Cat but its hard to make out if there are claw marks or not due to the soil composition.

Big feral maybe?

I got down and had a real good look when they were fresh.
There appeared to be no evidence of claw marks, the ground in front of the pads was totally undisturbed and still had that crusty rained upon look. It was very easy to see where the dirt was interfered with.
There were probably 14 prints and none showed signs of claws.
Unfortunately i ran out of plaster to do any more than 3 casts.
