Strange laughter

Unread post by Ron Smith »

I apologize if this video has been previously posted (I did search the forum before posting)

There is an youtube video I found around 18 months ago which I keep going back to and listening to.

The video was uploaded by a QLD researcher in 2017 which captured strange laughter?

https://youtu.be/68pIiVczn7Q

The section of video where the laughter can be heard starts at 23 second mark, Both the guys in the video turn around and appear dumbfounded at what they were hearing.

I'm, not saying one way or the other if this is authentic or not, If it's a prank, the laughter would have to be the most 'contrived' laughter I've heard, The laughter to me sounds human? However there is something that I can't put my finger, I know there are numerous reports of witnesses hearing human voices/talking.

In the comments of the video, In one of the replies by the video author states, this was at Red Bank Plains QLD, During the video, The video author indicates to his partner on the day that heard at the 1:24 mark that he heard a cat like noise but the cat like noise may have been a call by the Green or Spotted Catbird.

On my laptop I have an audio synthesiser and can bring that section of audio out from the video pretty clearly but if had the money I would pay a forensic audio specialist to bring this out even more.

Once again I apologize if this topic has been raised previously.

Gday Ron

The two guys in the video have a past history of faking videos. The claw video coming from behind the tree comes to mind, therefore, I have not bothered watching their videos since.

Having said that, I do think this video is legit and that they did hear that strange laughter, which is quite the catch, to me it sounds like a kid laughing which then turns into some kind of bird mimicking kind of laughter. I dont believe its a Kookaburra. its certainly strange and interesting.

Luckily they had the both of them there together as if any of them had of heard that laughter by themselves I am sure they would have needed a change of underpants, *cough* myself included.

One thing you do start to learn in this particular topic of research is that the Australian bush is full of strange things / beings / spirits. Many of them being tricksters. What they heard may well have been one of them.

Thanks for posting.

Like you, I've watched a number of his video's and in my opinion are not what he's claiming to have captured, However, That laughter in the video I linked above is quite strange, I thought it sounded more youthful although the video author states in the comments it sounded like a a female in the age range of 50's.

When I first watched that video I swore black and blue to myself the laughter is a bird call, So I went onto a website owned by Graeme Chapman, who is an Ornithologist, he has audio samples of 393 Australian birds with a Total sound samples referenced: 896, I've gone through most of these sound recordings but not yet found anything like that resembles the laughter in the video.

Yeap that guy is full of it. Some stone throwing video I saw was very badly faked and I called him out on it, not being rude or anything, and he deleted my comment. Like Dion said, give that channel a miss. It's a shame these types of people are out there but they shoot themselves in the foot easily enough.
