Hi Shazzoir, a few years ago I read on reddit an account near Barmah , Victoria of a young bloke driving late at night and a red eyed creature was following him through the trees at a hundred miles an hour.
I've never been able to find it again. Any ideas how to find it ?
All the best , Darryl.

Hey Austral :D

Without knowing the sub-reddit, I think that would be very difficult, as the search function isn't that good to take on the whole Reddit site. You could try doing a search for 'red eyes' and see how many hits you get, but I'm pretty sure results would be in the thousands.

Cheers,
Shazz

Thanks mate,
It never ceases to amaze me how many US citizens seem to have experiences with the Hairies, yet so many refuse to accept the possible solution. They may never speak of their experience with others for fear of ridicule, yet here on the forum where everyone is anonymous, the stories come out.

Cheers,
Shazz

Guys... I'm going to assume you are not long-time Redditors... the r/nosleep group is specifically for fictional stories, not real ones. It is full of these 'crafted' tales, in imitation of the real thing. The sub literally says "Everything is true here, even if it's not." Based on the 80's 'creepypasta' theme, it's a place for budding writers to write horror, and the sub rules reflect this, along with very serious rules about plagiarising content. This article in brief, partly explains why;

https://www.insider.com/history-of-redd ... eep-2020-6

The threads I post excerpts from here on AYR, are general ones usually posted on 'Ask Reddit', and are not fictional works inasmuch as genuine 'what's a spooky thing that happened to you' type threads crop up from time to time.

Your right Shazzoir , I know nothing about reddit but besides all that, a cattle musterer mate of a mate of mine tells a very similar event from the 1980’s . Two blokes camped in QLD looking for cattle on horseback and were chased out of camp by black creatures with glowing eyes and they flew from tree to tree as fast as the horses could go . The two blokes never went back to get all their stuff and quit there jobs straight after. This could also be c**p but my mate doesn’t think it is.

Austral, thanks for posting this; I would believe them, or at least, not disbelieve. We know there are different types of Yowies, and some have been seen in trees.

Hi Austral, I believe your mate Bigfoot in the US have been witnessed jumping from tree to tree with ease as well as a 700 lb Sasquatch perched on the flimsiest branch of a pine tree which in no way could sustain a 700 lb creature. It seems no matter how fast you travel these creatures have you covered whether on the ground or in the trees. Of course, it's not supernatural that's just one of their many abilities.

I think both the Barmah story and defiantly the blokes on horseback saw more of a black shadow entity with glowing red eyes. My mate who told me recons the same things are on some Harry Potter movie. Not a yowie in the " normal " sense of the word.

I live in South Carolina these days. I have spoken to two individuals from different walks of life who have has Sasquatch sightings in my area over the years. I will relay those stories in following posts in this thread.

As for myself. I had an interesting encounter with something hooting or howling in the southern sierras of California at high altitude. And as a dive master these days I frequently drive to lake jocassee and keowee every weekend to help with scuba classes. Naturally driving towards the lake I go through some back country and heavy woods. I’ve noted that there are three different streets I drive past that are all named after Bigfoot in some way. There’s Bigfoot Rd and Booger Branch to name a few. I can only imagine these roads have gotten these names from sightings in the area. It’s funny but if you go to the bfro website you won’t see too many sightings in my area of Pickens and Oconee county. I figure the locals simply hardly report their sightings to “official “ sources.

So here’s a Sasquatch sighting relayed to me by a gentleman now in his early 80s, who’s still out there working. His trade is operating an excavator to run the trenches work crew installing irrigation and water manes.

This was back about 25 years ago in Greenville county, back before it became as developed as it is now. He was digging trenches one day out on a tree farm. They had just bulldozed a few acres of woods and were now running the lines needed for plots of trees.

Most of the crew had gone off for the hour to take lunch but he opted to stay behind and keep running the trenches out. He was in an excavator and thus he didn’t really need a break anyways he thought. So he’s in the middle of this field working the excavator when he notices something walk out from the tree line 50 meters away. He said it was dark brown and stood at least as tall as his excavator. He said it took a few steps out into the open in the clearing and shifted from foot to foot like it was fixing to either charge him or make up its mind about something. Then after a few seconds it turned and walked back into the tree line, pausing to take one look back at him. Said it looked either disgusted or angry, but that his eyes shot him a glare. It then walked into the cover of the woods and wasn’t seen again.

He told the rest of the work crew when they came back but they all just poked jokes at him for the rest of the next few weeks. He kept a yelling at them to work next to him and to park the trucks close by and to not get anywhere near the tree line. Although he wasn’t in charge he was the oldest guy there and so everyone respected him enough to at least listen to his shouting every time he saw one of them working too close to the trees.

I asked him what it was he thinks he saw, and he said it without pause “a wood booger”

The YouTube channel Bigfoot Case Files is fascinating and posts frequently. No audio interviews like Yowiehunters Witness Reports, just narration of credible stories of encounters, but amazing stories nonetheless. I highly recommend it.

An interesting link from the US Government Forestry Service. I've seen the National Parks mob identifying Bigfoot/Sasquatch on a document identifying local wildlife but this is new to me (though it's nearly 9 years old now).
