the goverments part.....
Ok i have seen talk about some cover ups by the goverment with possible yowie graves and contact. So who exactly are these people? obviously they have contact with the police. I assume some of us have relatives or friends who are police officers, who may give some information on our friend the yowie. Whether this is reports, knowledge of actual whereabouts etc etc. I guess the government doesnt want the public to know about the yowie to stop public hysteria, but if this "lack" of knowledge causes deaths and attacks is it their fault? Or the public for being nieve? Whatever the reasons and results i believe its best interest for the government to release known reports of the yowie to researchers. Any ideas how to get them to release the information they have?

Its just talk
"I guess the government doesnt want the public to know about the yowie to stop public hysteria."
err...nothing so melodramatic.
Other than a couple of plaster casts..there is not much evidence anyway...
There are some good witnesses though...
"Whatever the reasons and results i believe its best interest for the government to release known reports of the yowie to researchers."
Sure..but what for.?
So instead of say 500 witness statements..we have 2,000 statements..so what.?
Its not the number of witnessses that counts..its the amount of evidence you can show.
"Any ideas how to get them to release the information they have?."
Do an FOI..add to the data base..and then what ?

OK i am sure the government knows about the yowie and you actually think all they have is eye witness reports??? The army has encountered the yowie in training exercises, not to mention park rangers etc etc.
But i guess its all too hard to get anything from the goverment. So back to trying to get that body.

If you are talking about the case mentioned on this board then you are half right.
Unknown Primate..sure..but the rest of the quote was
"the first hair fits the pattern of primate hair(including human)..the caveat that has to be born in mind is that hair of this appearance can also be found among people, an absolute identification is impossible."
It was done by an American biologist Dr. Henner Fahrenbach who is not a primatologist.
Here he is again with the same term in another case that I found in 10 seconds of searching.

LOL
I have spoken to him by email years ago.
He knows nothing about Australian mammal hair and i seriously doubt he has a large primate hair sample collection anyway.
It is an educated guess..which said human or unknown primate.
We have blind tested the 3 leading hair "experts" in OZ and they all were wrong.
America would be no different..
DNA is the only thing that counts..
Paul did great work actually collecting the hair and sending it.
I interviewed him to camera about 1 year ago when he came down to the blue mts.
"OK i am sure the government knows about the yowie "
Knows about sightings..sure.
"and you actually think all they have is eye witness reports???"
yes
" The army has encountered the yowie in training exercises, not to mention park rangers"
Sure..I have read both of cropper/healy books and interviewed many witnesses..
"So back to trying to get that body."
It aint going to happen...
The real question is .."how come monster ape like forms pop up all over the world and cannot be caught."
bang bang...

Conspiracy
I think there was a movie about conspiracy theories.... titled, "Conspiracy theory", starring Mel. While Mel's character in that movie may have redeemed his sanity by the finale, I'm not so sure his real life has been so kind.
The government would have as much interest in the yowie as they do in haunted houses, hospitals, hotels, etc. In fact it may even be on par with their interest in UFOs, alien abductions, and the min min lights!
I'd suggest the government's secrets are restricted to the benefits some politicians and other agencies enjoy at tax payers expense. If being informed of the yowie is important, read widely and attempt to experience it.

Hi Aussieguy
I have worked in various government departments for several decades and hang around in circles that should have half a notion about true government "conspiracies". And in that time I have formed the opinion that those in the know, know "Jack Sh.t". And if they do know something, their reputations, and scientific prejudice is such a barrier or hurdle for them that they just don't want to know about "It". I think publicly they just want it all to go away, but privately, just like us they too are just as interested to know what the truth is too.
Imagine the scandal and damage there would be for a politician, scientist, or policeman if they came out publicly supporting this stuff and even worse spending public money on it. Heavens forbid.
Now, don't take this as poo pooing the "Conspiracy Theory", but I just don't think it is really happening, certainly not on a conscious or overt level anyway. I just don't think they are they well organised.
