A Family member had brought this old garden web site post to my attention just recently,
I felt for the lady asking for advice but flowers like these are like JELLY-BEANS to yowies.
GARDEN VILLAGE WEB: Posted by dnnaa Illawarra NSW Nov 27,2002 I desperately need advice on Yowie repellant or preferably extermination. My small property near Wollongong is currently overrun with the blighters. A family group moved in recently which we thought was cute - especially the infant - but they have abused our good will and now number in their dozens. I am at my wits end with worry and frustration as nothing seems to deter their habits. Last night was the last straw. Not only did they perform their usual cocophany of yelps and howls all night but they trampled half of my Iceberg roses. Any constructive advice is most welcome. Please note, however, that Yowies are a protected species in Wollongong region as they are required by BHP for cheap labour.
