New Competition - Pick that Poo!

Unread post by forestguy »

It's time for the next competition! Completely unauthorised and unsanctioned by AYR mods, it's 'Pick that Poo!'

While out with Anonimust today at one of our sites we found several piles of the scat photographed below. Not being scatologically inclined, we have no idea what it's from - can anyone enlighten us?

We thought maybe pig? If so the general area was alot tidier than I would usually associate with feral pigs - no wallows in the nearby creek, and no noticeable tree rubs.

I know what you're thinking, and yes, I can confirm there is a prize - one lucky forum member who can correctly identify this scat for us can receive one plastic bagged sample of previously indeterminate scat!

...okay... I've REALLY put some more thought into this and realised that my first two guesses were probably long shots... so here comes two more guesses... is it from either a Sumartrian red breasted Oomidoodle whooping crane... OR a... Southern Pakistan Ant-Eating Bush Hog???... (obviously the male of the species)... **oooooh Sticky hopes that he is right this time** ...

...[just a little side note off the topic but... just imagine putting a Rhinoceros on a spitroast... now imagine the size of the crackiling eh???... hmmmmm...]... cheers... Stickyfingers. :D :)

I should have made clearer at the start - both samples are the same, the second one is just more recent. There were also a few other piles in a couple of metre radius.

As I've said, I'd don't know what they are, so when you guys make a suggestion I've been off googling them. I'm saying no to horse, pony, and cow. Also no to dingo/dog (although we think we've found that nearby).

It looks like pics of wombat or roo that I've found on other sites, except it's bigger than roo is supposed to be, and I don't think there would be wombats in the area (Nth. Bris? Happy to be corrected...)

Which looks like it leaves us with... pig, although as I said, there were no wallows in the creek, no tree rubs in the area, and no general pig digging around mess.

So (I think) the winner is - seeker. Iwanna is 2nd with wombat ('cause that would be cool). And sticky is 3rd for the male Southern Pakistan Ant-Eating Bush Hog.

Now where do you guys want your poo delivered? :)

You've got to be kidding, I thought this was for a real prize :?

I would like you to try and fax it to me. If that doesn't work freeze it till we meet in the future.....

Q? Do I get the hard old one or the sleeker softer black model?

Now now, it is a real prize. It's real poo. And nothing but the best, it's the black model...
