well if bb and his crew dont get any yowie action at least they will get some lightning action, and wind action, and rain action, maybe not too much sleep action.
on the bright side, ive heard that like dogs, yowies dont like lightning so if they are lucky a yowie might come to their tent door and scratch to come in.

... I am wondering about the 'hoax' action myself.

... after all, they did post their intentions on a website.
Not that it is likely to occur, but they should be wary...

... but just not paranoid ...
Anyhow, stranger things have happened around here.

what aussie trev meant by hoax action, is by revealing your location pryor to your outing may invite some hoaxers on your weekend without you knowing it, dont forget there is a lot of people scrutanising these forums, some serious researches, some out for a bit of fun and some just plain pests, who would love to debunk the yowie and what better way to do it by showing how easy it is to hoax us, therefore putting doubt on every sighting recorded.
good luck next time bb, hopefully you can get into those hills near ya home soon.
wow 100 posts and now im a golden child, what do i get? a gold watch?

Hi guys here are some pics of the area we were in. Steve had a encounter with (Something when he walked about 400meters down in to the gully something was coming up the other side he left he's Voice Recorder in a tree as he was coming back to camp he has picked something up i will try and endevor to put it on this site if not i will load to youtube and give link later on, to hear it if you guys could put it under the microscope of sorts and scrutinise it that would be a big help. The clicking sounds you will hear is the strap thats on the voice recorder hiting the side of the recorder.. Someone might be abel to work the sounds out, we have no idea....what they are. Steve will give his full encounter on this site shortly.
TW was sitting down near the car when he looked up and about 60meters away a fairly large tree bent all the way over and touched the ground. He as well as us were puzzeld it was to big for a wallaby or the like we dont know what it was. All this took place around 1.00 oclock in the arvo just after launch" TW cooked up a pot of chilly beans mind you it was overpowering to say the least...that might have brought them in who knows. We were at Mcmahons lookout 20ks down table lands road. That is were we made base camp..

Thanks, Bushbaby for the photos and story - I'm looking forward to hearing the others' contributions. What a shame it rained on the one night you went out! And yeah, there are some great lookouts there according to another AYR mate of mine who went out there with Dean a couple of years ago.
Kind regards,
Shazz

Bush Baby, I think Tablelands road is becoming a bit of a circus...
If you ever get a chance, grab ur expedition mates and head to Blackheath and turn left across the railway tracks and into the Megalong valley..
Up near the old Packsaddlers (About a 30 mins drive) is the start of the Wild Dog Mtns..Then there's always that sighting a couple of years ago from that horse rider in the Valley...
It spooks me whenI go there and that is in the day....!!

Hey everyone im steve 1 of bush baby's expedition team yeah well where to begin the washout was a bit of a downer but we had as tony said a small experience i headed down with a radio and my voice recorder to a lower part of the basin its very beautiful country out there the lower i got the greener and thicker it got i was following a trail that was of intrest to us as all of the bushes and small trees were pushed up in the opposite direction i was walking in as if someone had walked up from the basin. Seeing as there are no easy tracks down to the basin we found this strange as i followed it i found i could'nt go to the bottom as i cam to a cliff but also from what i could see the mud would of come up tp my knees lol i radio's to bush baby that i was as far as i could go. Bush baby asked me to try some wood knocking i did this in two sets of three then i started back up but i was not listening as i had gotten caught in a spikey bush lol

so when i escaped lol i started up the hill an heard crunching coming from behind it seemed a fair way off but moving fast so naturally i got a lil faster and half way up it stopped so i set up my recorder hanging off a tree as bush baby said in the recording you will hear te strap tapping on the recorder but theres also a deep bellow sound i hav'nt been able to replicate. the recording has been shortened but i left the 1st part on to show i havnt modifyed sound if i modified it, my voice to would be modified. if anyone can explain it i'm open to hear it hopfully we will hav it up soon the total recording whent for 2hrs i shortened it to 3mins lol cos thats the only time the sound happens thanks for reading i know its long but thats my report. cheers and have a good one

Bush baby,
Another suggestion...??
Think my username and look at maps of the Blue Mtns...
A couple of interesting reports - admittedley from the 70s i think - but well worth the effort given the terrain..

Bushbaby, couldn't find anything on YouTube for 'yowie sounds' - could you send us the URL for the webpage it's on, please? Just cut and paste the http:// address of the actual yowie sounds page into a reply here if you would be so kind...
Thanks,
Shazz

Gday fellas and fellarettes,

... I have been busy for a few days so I am just going through the posts now.
1) BushBaby...
As for HOAX action i dont see the reson to do that c**p we call it as we see it.
Thanks lil foot ...

... I meant exactly what you wrote...

... I just thought that putting the exact location of where they were going could cause a bit of mischief from some scalliwags out there.

..... I mean saying that you are going to tablelands overnight is one thing, but saying you are going to be camping in an old concrete shed or whatever could lead to trouble.
2) Too bad it rained you out, I would have liked to have heard about the night time experiences, if any!.
Even if nothing happens, its still a pretty good thing to camp out.
3) The pictures and reports are pretty good too!!
4) I can't find the sound file on youtube either...

... if you can find it?, can you copy the http/blahblahblah.com address from the top of the screen onto here?
5) Are there any parts on the recording that sound like anything of interest large animal wise?

..... like maybe a kangaroo..... or owl..... or horse..... or motorbike..... or yowie?

I can answer your question trev. there is a bellowing sound, it may be an owl but for it to be an owl it'd be a bloody big owl. as for motorbikes or vehicles the recording was set up where i could only get through let alone a bike amongst the small cliffs. so when the sound goes public you will know wat i mean.

Hi All
As reported by BushBaby and Steve22 our expedition to King Tablelands Rd ended in a washout, but not before we had an interesting thing happen.
About 1300hrs i decided that it was time to cook up some lunch, and so i set up my gas stove and proceeded to cook up some chilli beans (obviously the natural food of the yowie, who would of guessed?) anyway said beans wafted their irresistable scent in a certain direction, and soon after I spotted a sustantial sapling slowly bend some 45 degrees from its normally vertical atitude then spring back. I never spoted the culprate but the said sapling bender decided to exit when a car load of noisy hikers turned up. BB and S22 wasted no time in investigating this phenomina while I maintained a cool disposition and just sat and observed them (thats not to say that BB and S22 were not cool about it, but I just did not want to alarm the said hikers). S22 reported that he heard something heavy clumping off through the bush adjacent to the area where the sapling was bent over. I subsequently identified the sapling after the hikers had exited and had a go at bending it to a similar extent, it took a fair bit of effort on my patr to bend that sapling to the extent that i observed it being bent to, I am of average build and weigh about 80kg. I have a nice pic of our chosen camping site but have no idea on how to present it on this site.

Hi All
I Finally worked out how to post a pic on this site, just took a bit of time to experiment. Any way heres a pic of our campsite on King Tablelands Rd. It took a bit of manouvering to get the Zook up there but it was worth it. Too bad the rain came cause I felt we would have had a most interesting evening.

doctorscream wrote:Tw, Come on. Let's get a little scientific discussion going here, for the purposes of ascertaining the validity of proposed theories about interdimensional Yowie.
Righto science.
First, lets clear up the interdimensional thing.
What exactly do you mean by interdimensional?
As you might be aware, we currently exist in four dimensions.
* Length or back-and-forth
* Width or side-to-side
* Height or up-and-down
* Time, which only runs forward. Gravity not withstanding. (go ask Einstein)
String theory and m-theory suggest that there might be up to 11, but they are at a subatomic scale, and yowies certainly do not share this characteristic, should they actually exist.
By what mechanism do they cross the dimension barrier?
You know. Dr. Scream, if you had have taken the exra time to have a think about it, and come up with a multiverse hypothesis, that would have sounded much better than interdimensional. It's a bit star trek.
Perhaps you could use that one the next crypto site,.
By the way, you don't fool me for a minute.
You seem far to erudite to be doing anything other than taunting the true believers that frequent these halls of academe.
Its a nicely unfalsifiable proposition, the whole interdimentional thing.

Doctorscream at the risk of causing offence, you are either,
a: Mentally unstable
b: Taking the p*** out of everyone on this forum,
c: Mentally unstable
I think most people here show a level of tolerance in your imaginings, but after you claiming you now have farting competitions with invisible bigfoot, well Sir thats just retarded.
Also while browsing the JREF forums i came across this
http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php? ... 75&t=94981
Im pretty sure you are the person called Historian. Same out there theories and beliefs, and same denigration techniques of anyone who dares ask for proof and explanation of you so called experiences. I feel an ESP moment coming... you are going to quote part of my previous sentence and say something like " pot calling the kettle black" or something with a similar meaning, in that I am currently deriding your mentality.
If you honestly believe the cr*p you are sprouting then you are indeed in need of help. It has nothing to do with me having an open mind or not, another of your oft used derisive accusations on those who challenge you. More to do with..well... the drivel that comes from you and your claimed "research".
If you are only winding people up well then you are still a sad individual to come here and other forums to deliberately stir up sh*t, have you no other interests in life? Probably not because if you display the same mentality and lunatic paranoid beliefs in public as you do on forums then I think it highly unlikely you would possess friends to have other interests with.
At the risk of being hit with the Ban Hammer, you Sir are a moron.

Dearest Dr. Scream,
I can just see Hawking in his wheelchair being pushed around by Bigfoot.
Perhaps we ought to rename Hawking radiation to "Bigfoot radiation"
Comedy gold, none the less.
I notice you are sounding less American lately.
