In the early days of this forum Dean mentioned an article in Nexus Magazine so I did a search and found it, take it for what it is, below is what Dean wrote:

I remember reading a story in Nexus writen by two guys travelling along the Newell that stopped for a toilet break. The guy who actually wrote the story said he notice something odd in the forest and walked further into the bush to check it out.

As he arrived at the object, he claims it was a manhole cover - in the bush? It was partly open, which was the only reason he noticed it, plus the fact that it was a freak chance that they stopped in this exact loaction (anyone who knows the Piliga will know what I mean).

Once to cover plate was removed, both guys became edgy after discovering not only a well constructed shafted with a ladder, but at the bottom was a well lit tunnel. A Massive big Tunnel, big enough to drive trucks along. It was like a Hwy directly under the Piliga and had lights

One of the guys wanted to investigate further, however the second man smelt danger and refused to go any further. They both returned to their car in total amazement, then drove off. They were never able to find that location again, but the writer swear it's true.

But then again, it WAS written in Nexus!

I do believe I remember reading that article, or one very like it many years ago.

The concept of 'top secret' tunnels throughout many western countries rings of truth to my mind. The technology is certainly there and explains the multitude of 'mechanical' screeching or groaning noises reported being heard everywhere.

Nexus or not, that doesn't sound far-fetched to me at all. The whole point of secret installations is their clandestine nature, and an underground highway sounds like a valid way of keeping stuff out of sight that the authorities want to keep out of the public's mind (and out of the mass media).

It's not just underground highways.
There are reportedly entire cities underground housing beurocraps and administrators that will 'keep things going' if something drastic happens (war, meteorite impact, plague, etc).

It's called COG... Continuity Of Government.

The highways are for clandestinely moving equipment and troops around the country. From what I know of this plan it was formulated after WWII and heavily implemented in the US. It would make sense for 'straya to have implemented something similar but on a necessarily smaller scale. Apparently under the new parliament house (which from the start looked, to my eyes, like a massive bomb shelter masquerading as architecture) there is a huge amount of offices etc that presently lie unused. There is speculation the whole thing was designed for the UN (world government) to be moved there after a nuclear war wipes out the northern hemisphere.

As to evidence... there is plenty of online info and videos of trucks going into the tunnels in the US and coming out in other states. As mentioned before, it also explains the huge amount of 'groaning' noises being reported and recorded across the world.

It is well publicised fact that Russia has been frantically building underground shelters to house as many of their citizens as possible.

There are a few reasons underground places have been built which have been planned for ages. Some of it not even worth thinking about, control, survival, and religious.

On a side note.....a fake video it is, however the Pilliga is not a place I would what to be wondering around at night unless of course you had safety of numbers.

Not in the Pilliga itself but just South of Coonabarabran is where I had my first Sighting.

Thats where I would do my research if I still had the drive for it, however a prick of a place to get to if you live on the coast.

Maybe these clowns are not aware of what really exists in there.
There are enough reports from hardened truckies for me to shake in my boots sitting here typing this.

Yeah I posted a breakdown of the video, but it didnt originate from me. The guy who made " Theres something in the Pilliga" talks about two locals that scare tourists wearing goatskins, that was my conclusion as to whats in the vid.

There are pros and con to it. Theres a lot of political s#@t going on up there with a gas company fraking and fear of ground water contamination. There is also an interesting video of a group of teens being paralled along a track and picking up some strange audio that fraks them out....I belive that one based on the Pilliga princess legends.

Amazing how the filming starts right at the spot where a yowie comes running out. Don't like to call anyone a false witness but this video appears sus.

On a slightly different topic has anybody actually checked out the town of Pilliga. Took a tour through the place with google earth. The main road appears to be bitumen but the other roads appear to be dirt tracks with the pilliga forest coming right up to the edge of the properties. That place is creepy enough in the day time let alone at night with what appears to be very limited street lighting. Some houses around the perimeter of the town seem somewhat run down as if they have been abandoned. My imagination may be racing here but I wonder if the residents have encountered Yowie activity and just deserted the place.

Whatever the case this would be a serious location to set up camp and do some Yowie research.

I agree Seasonfire. Even renting a house near the bush for 6 months could yeild some sort of results. Surely something would come in for a look. Just driving through there at night is scary enough!
