I may have been hungry at the time
, but I was more likely to be pointing out that you can literally see anything you want in a photograph .
I'm guilty of it too .
In my opinion , we have to be more careful than this , other people are watching us on here and it discredits us as a group .

Im sorry mate , I rarely if ever comment on photos etc because every one seems to see what they want to but the juvenile does look exactly like a termite mound in the shadows , I
see them all the time ,and I just cant see anything at all where you say the other juvenile and the adult are
Cheers Greg

Re: Jungadee track found at Tiviat brook Queensland
While paeredoilia can be misleading or frustrating and even appetising in this case and although I'm sure i have experienced the paeredoilia before, im positive i didnt start seeing monkey faces in pictures of scenery until i started looking at yowie stuff.
Ive started to catch myself now when my mind must be forming an image, trying to make sense out of something or whatever its doing. I was looking at some photo the other day and trying to distinguish an object when all of a sudden it manifested into wilbur the worm of all things. I havent watched Humphrey the bear or thought of wilbur in years. Amazing how the mind works...lol
The thing is ive noticed is that paredoilia is kind of what the yowies are doing when they are in stealth mode. Pretending to be part of a tree and blending in with the bush so well. Of course ive never definitely seen them do this but it's pretty much one of the few facts we have on them. They blend in so well that they could be right next to you and you can't see them. Even seeing one and taking a pic or video doesnt work as we have seen on the forum numerous times.
In saying all that, i gotta agree with Rusty but if youve captured something good and not sure then this is the forum to post it on. Its a tough audience..

Hey YB whilst you say " its one of the few facts we have on them " , I just want to say as a whole we have no facts on them all we have is individual
beliefs and unexplained evidence
If we had concrete facts they would be a recognised species or at the least further investigations would be undertaken
We all on here enjoy the thrill of the hunt ( or debunking ) but there is no concrete evidence or facts ( unless you know something ,then please give me a call )
Ps I am a staunch believer in their existence and I have my own thoughts on how and where they are and their lifestyle etc , but it is just my theory
Cheers Greg

True Greg. What we say to each other and have heard or read is officially just anecdotal evidence. Ive never definitely seen them camouflaged even if i think i might have.I was going to change that "facts" comment but thought it might sneak thru!thehairyone wrote:Hey YB whilst you say " its one of the few facts we have on them " , I just want to say as a whole we have no facts on them all we have is individual

There are a few reasons why I don't think it's simple paradolia.
Firstly the circumstances of it being on film, just a few meters away from what I assert is a set of tracks.
Along with my normally staunch dog acting screwy in that area.
Everyone (four people) that were present that day having a weird feeling and also picking up on an awful smell in that exact location.
There is more information in the video file than in the still frames (which are not true photo's, just captures).
And whilst I concede that none of this constitutes an absolute, I find it more than worthy of discussion and further investigation.
I do not completely dismiss the general suggestion that what is seen may be paradolia, however what I can address are claims that it is paradolia
caused by deep shadow and vegetation in the background of the footage.

As usual Ill post graphics from the video below, which I hope helps to explain my P.O.V

Re: Jungadee track found at Tiviat brook Queensland
Paul , it's not what your posting , it's what your claiming .
Since january this year you have claimed to have video'd 7 yowies !
Good evidence speaks for itself , you don't have to defend it , secondary evidence is even better and adds more weight to your claim .
PLEASE STOP and go back to your latest finding . Take your camera and tripod to the EXACT position and re-film the EXACT location of the anomaly . If it truely is a yowie then we can all see it for ourselves . Trust and credibility is everything here .

Kudos for giving it a go, but I cannot see how the face could be lit if it is behind the tree. What I believe we are seeing is not 'something blocking the background' but rather looking through shadowed leaves TO the background (the lit 'face').paulmcleod67 wrote:Hi mate.Rusty2 wrote:My point being , the mind sees what it wants to see .

Excellent example on how paeredoilia can be created. Been caught out by that before..Wolf wrote:Kudos for giving it a go, but I cannot see how the face could be lit if it is behind the tree. Matey I had ten years in the Australian army mostly in vietnam era black GP boots then 20 years as a removalist in steel caps.
Growing up in an interstate truckie/ biker family the only shoes I owned were black school shoes
and the rest was barefoot right up until pubs demanded footware for entry and I had to capitulate to the runner.
My old man had feet like bloody cracked steel he used to say " We aint born with em on and I aint playing bloody tennis"

Re: Jungadee track found at Tiviat brook Queensland
Incidently it was my truckie dad that first introduced me to the term yowie back in the 70's whilst transporting high tension steel cable spools
to camps in north Queensland that were building the power grid towers. Some pretty isolated camps at that time, at night you couldn't take a step
without treading on a cain toad.
The old man used to pull me out of school to "offie" with him, as he only ever drove one up (alone) and mostly drove long hours full of Duramite and speed to stay
awake his log book was...umm pretty bent.
The trucks would travel in convoyed pairs and had to carry their own food, water and fuel (not many servos up there back then).
I overheard many road tales told around road bay bon fires of a yowie they named Sadie.
On occasion he would pick up hitch hikers (women only) and I would have to sleep under the cable spools on the pan at night.
On one such occasion around 3am the loaded flatbed with all that weight on it began to rock wildly (dirty minds aside please).
My dad tentatively got out of the cab to check on me and I swear It's the only time I ever seen fear in the old boy.
When the hitch hiker asked what was happening I heard my dad mention that, that this stretch of the road was Sadies and that she hated trucks.
Funny how things work out.
Cheers
