Long time lurker here...... im in two minds about this to be honest, at first i didnt think it could be true, I know if i tangled with a yowie i would be posting s#@t about it all over town but having said that i also havnt had the exposure dean and the team have (hence a certain reservedness (that even a word?) about the whole thing) with media etc
I'm happy just to wait and see the report and recordings and make my own mind up.
The name calling, swearing and threats of banning make all parties look like wankers, i wouldnt buy either of you a beer after that, even if you had a yowie with you. We are all adults here, act like it.

good call mate...a lot of c**p has been said. People should just wait for the real story. I am doing my best to get my other computer together...its going to take some time to get the sound stuff into a multi track file to take out the bad swears for the kids lol. I will do my best tomorrow to get my multi-media machine up and going tomorrow. Am waiting for someone to send me some pics to make it not so drab. Otherwise it will be a blank screen with just sound. Anyway...we will work it all out and calm the masses soon.
peace mate...and All

So behave, unbeleivers,
And They that think it true.
Reports are surely pending,
And the only thing to do,
Is show a little patience,
And all shall be revealed.
A battered Yowie hunter,
Shall surely soon be healed
In the meantime , lets all be civil
Lest Joe should care to smite thee.
For his wrath is as the wrath,
Of a Yowie,
With P.M.T.
And as for me,
crack open the soap,
'cause my mouth is dirty

The moorings broke, this threads adrift,
If one should get all picky
As pointed out in bright, bold type
By the effervescent sticky.
Seems to me, the tide has turned,
As quickly reading back I learned,
That admonishment for behavior bad,
Has overtaken those that had,
Been hot and bothered straight off the bat,
To initiate a verbal spat.
Friends and Romans,
Perchance to hear, The voice of reason
Ever clear.
Soon all shall see dramatic prose,
That shall make it clear as is the nose,
On the face of Sticky's avatar,
Are we taken for a ride?
Or have we bought the car?

Marius, if we ever meet, I'll buy YOU a beer! That was brilliant!
Maybe we should start up a poetry/prose thread in the "Shenanigans" Forum?!
There is talent galore here!

Thank Klaatu I was in Thredbo for the weekend and missed all of the to'ing and fro'ing.
I guess the salient point of this thread (now that I've caught up) is that:
If you get chucked 12 feet through the air on a yowie hunt with witnesses and sound grabs, for Klaatu's sake, don't post it until you've returned home, straightened up your story and edited all the relevant files. Wait until you can make one single, coherent post with all the facts and evidence supporting it.
Once again, for me, the jury's still well and truly out until the intrepid team post a professional report, not a 'headline grabber', which on the face of it does bear all the hallmarks of other inconclusive reports.
'Kudos' to the team for going bush and hunting the hairy blokes, but 'jeers' for the rather untidy and irresponsible method of reporting it. It has only served to tarnish your final report. Hope I'm wrong but until I see something more conclusive in the way of 'real evidence' (audio files alone won't cut it I'm afraid) then I'll stay on skeptics side.
Please note that this is not an 'aggressive' post just 'a voice of reason post' that is yet to be convinced of anything.
By the way, didn't see any hairy blokes around Thredbo or Kosziuscko! Not surprising really, I don't think they could afford to eat or drink at resort prices.

I agree with you Opus. I can assure you, none of the team had any input in the original post and would not have made a headline grabber like that.
I should have all I need fixed in my computer to get audio files rendered into youtube format tomorrow.
I would like to hear the groups decision on how I do this though. Do I edit out space? or do I put the full audio up as it is. To hear pertinent parts it would take about 2 hours listening so I will have to render about 12 ten minute audio files. I do feel its the best way to understand the evening and will give a good feel as to how it was to be there.
I have looked into posting the full audio file on other sites but a 2 gig file cant be done on any unless I pay. That's why i am going to use the youtube method - I am going to use te original WAV file (not MP3) that's why its so big, to get the best quality.
If anyone has any ideas about this please post them for my consideration tonight and i will get cracking on the audio tomorrow once I get my multimedia programs up and running again.
Thanks for your patience...its been a long week

Hey Yowielover1,
I would convert it to MP3 with a Constant @ 320 kbps. The lose of quality would be so minimal (if any) the humble human ear couldn't pick it up anyway.
Also have you thought about converting to FLAC?.. FLAC is best for using as a master archive format and can be compressed with absolutely no loss in audio quality and then converted back to .WAV or whatever format you need with no loss in audio, but you wont get the same sort of compression size as you would with MP3.
If you have a good upload speed you could make your own private torrent.....PM me if you want to know how to do this.

Hey everyone, after visiting this site for a while now i thought it was finally time to sign up!
Ok so first point of business, just like everyone else I'm dying for this report! c'mon you're killing us here!! hahah
also as Strange2 said, the quality of MP3 at 320kbits/s would be absolutely fine, it would then be much easier to distribute on one of the many free filehosting services available these days.
Anyway hello to everyone! It's nice to finally be a member!
Cheers,
sealo

Hey Sealo, great to have you on board.
If you'd like to, pop down to the forum here
viewforum.php?f=17 and tell us a bit about your good self, particularly if you've had an 'experience' with some sort of cryptid. You'll probably be welcomed by more than one of the regulars here, so if you have any burning questions, go right ahead. If you've been lurking a while, you may already have read through the archives, but if you haven't, it's a great place to start.
Welcome!
Kind regards,
Shazz

Hi YL1.
Personally I'd like to hear the full account of the night without any editing. I won't be offended if you leave in all the French words.
It might be worth posting the pertinent parts for those that want to get straight to the juicy bits. (i.e. Dean vs Yowie Part III at 6 mins 45 seconds - The Attack) or something like that.
Thanks for putting in the effort to share the audio. Can't wait to hear it.
Cheers.

Hi there, pastabaz is back under a new name (real name actually

)
Having a look at Deans injuries, and the latest detailed report, and knowing Dean well, this needs to be taken seriously and treated legitimately. It is a credit to your team that the area has been deemed 'no solo investigating'.
Great reporting.
I could have done wthout seeing Dean's buttocks, but mate, you've toned up, the stairmaster is working well for you

To be honest, its one of these things that you just don't know. I was in a frenzy of self preseravtion at the time, could not think clearly during, nor after the event.. I'm guessing not. I went nuts at the time - and after!
