My thoughts on the cat?

Well just as there are 101 uses for a dead cat, there are probably also 101 reasons for a dead cat. Strange that it should be in the middle of the path. Poisoning by strychnine? It acts very quickly, so the cat may not have had time to go into hiding as sick animals often do.
Or maybe it died of more natural, unknown causes and was dragged out onto the track by a fox? it's a mystery......

Licola sounds like a cool trip.

If you do get a expedition going, remember to use 4wds. That way you wont be limited to "good" roads and can get into the thick of it.

When I took my family bus into the Bunyip State Park, the road corrugations, nearly shook the c**p out of it.

Now this is surprising.

No-one seems to be interested in a Licola expedition!

Surely someone must be interested.

I'll be available myself for an expedition in mid October when my LSL comes up. 3 months of holiday to fill in.

Might just be the 2 of us. I would have to drag along a mate of mine as he has spent alot of time in the bush riding horses in the hills around Mansfield. Boy has he got some great stories to tell plus he has heaps of camping gear etc :)

Might find some more interested people before long.

Mansfield? I know the area north and east of there. Around Macs Cove, Howqua and Jamison. Not much to tell though, in regards Yowies etc. Although there had been many a camping trip in those area.

When the Licola trip is organised, it needs to be done properly. Between Melbourne and Licola, are some other Yowie areas that might be worth checking out, on the way there or on the way back. Certainly worth considering.

PS. Do we have any decent camera equipment?
Mine takes stills and VGA video, stored on SD card,
nothing real flash though.
What do we need for foot print casting etc?
Just in case we're lucky.
