Sorry to try and discount your theory Breaker Morant but it would appear that in the case of the Canadian Yowie Hunter that rule .303 was applied, noted and duely disregarded by the creature that then removed his arm and beat him to death with it. I'm also guessing that the creature was not Skippy on a bad hit of acid either.

That doesn't happen to Australians. Aussies aren't afraid of anything. They eat vegemite. You don't get any tougher than that. I'd rather eat devil chilli on sushi than take a sniff of vegemite.

The really aggressive and man eating type of yowie sounds alot like the beastie the native americans in the n.e US call the Wendigo. Alot of the descriptions are similar,hairy 7-15ft+ tall,and fond of people in a culinary sense. I've read that there are supposedly several varieties of sasquatch,yetis,ect. Some are the reclusive quiet types while the others are the cannibal type with the long, pointy, nasty teeth.
I have a book by Brad Steiger called Monsters among Us that tells about a place called the Valley of Headless men where fur trappers and such were found headless and the flesh stripped from their bones along with the usual giant footprints in the area. The Giants of the Solomon Island and Guadocanal sound like the same type of creatures as the others too. As for the MIB's they may be on the scene because of the panic that a gigantic man eating homonid would cause,especially if there are thriving populations of them and they prove to have some type of intellegence. Then there are all the finds that the Smithsonian,Vatican,ect surpress that point to previous civilisations here millions of years before ours. Some were supposedly mant eating giants. Stuff like that leaking out may make society a bit twitchy.

Wendigos have been described both as a spirit and a living creature. Some are supposed to have originated from humans turning cannibal in times of famine while others are described as monsters lurking in the forest,waiting for people to get lost as it stalks and terrifies them. Some wendigos are giant sized yet skinny with a sickly yellow skin color and others are described as the typical giant hairy creature we all know and love. One wendigo description is of a 15 foot being dressed in dazzling white with a shining star on it's forehead. That type seems to be like a banshee since it's only seen to foretell the death of a loved one.
The sasquatch is also described as a spirit. Vanishing and teleporting as it chooses. One reason why the white man will never capture one according to native americans.

Now he says he "didn't ask" but nevertheless assumed.
That is not what he said in reply to my various posts.
He stated with certainty they were and to not believe him was to call him a liar.

Surly if the public did find out that there are 6ft+ hungry meat eating creatures running about the out back there would be demand for imediate action, most likely resulting in the same sort of sceanario as the thylacine.

I also agree with the points made above about the religious implications of the discovery of a highly intelligient creature, it would create a tear in the fabric of society, taking the idea of "Noahs Arc" right out of the window with it, seeing as this may also give the all time proof of evolution which astonishingly is still denied by religious sects all over the world.

Tango, you don't have to believe everything that is written on this site you read what you like and interpret it the way you like but to knit pick and try and discredit everything isn't very helpful either. There are some things that i've read on this forum which to say the least i am dubious about but i and just about everyone else on this site choose not to call people liars and fakes without knowing the full story or the person.

Sorry to get off thread but i had to say something. Dean goes to a hell of a lot of trouble to offer us what he does and i'd hate to see that stop because someone can't let something go.

I wasn't referring to the stuff that gets released by the team. I was referring more to the things that are released by everyone on the forum. There are a lot of strange people out there and if some of my friends knew that i had taken up such an interest they might catagorise me as one lol. Oh well, when they are proved wrong we can say i told you so. At least my dog believes me

so can we assume that a yowie can be a cross between humans and apes? if so if confronted i reckon i would start jumping around throwing leaves in the air and try like all hell to convince this thing that i am higher in society then it is, i know in the ape world that this would scare another ape and well if i was going to fight someone and they started jumping around i would back away aswell =P crazy is crazy right

Why not just calmly try and talk to it.
It might find such an attempt at communicating
intriguing and become curious and less aggresive.

there has to be a voice of reason hey hehe, that might work but i reckon that they all have their own personallitys right, you may be able to calm one down but what if its the wrong one to try to talk too, maybe trying to talk to it might frustrate it cause it can't understand, maybe our voices annoy them..... too many variables for my liking mate, ill stick with acting like a crazy man and try to scare it enough that it will not want too be close too me, else an elephant gun works wonders
