I think it likely the yowie was wearing the deerskin for imitative purposes rather than for warmth. Either for hunting or it may have observed humans putting on and removing coats, jackets etc. In the fight for survival it is often small changes in behavior that determines success or failure of a species. This may just be a yowie fashion victim.

I have not mentioned this here before mainly because it's not my recollection but one of my Cousins it happened on a remote road east of Myrtle creek approximately 60 KMs south of Casino nsw .
My cousin whilst traveling to a popular local swimming hole claims he and his mate saw a large Yowie walking along the edge of the dirt formed road wearing a jacket . Now before you lot blow up just keep in mind it's not my sighting and who's to say that our hairy mates are not partial to a bit of snow dropping , it's been well documented that they like to take concealed vantage points and observe us so what learned behaviours they may pick up as a result who is to say . I found it fascinating at the very least .
I obviously questioned as to weather he mistook a very large unkempt man as a Yowie but he assured me it was no person , very hairy , long arms hanging down and no visible neck quite classic really ?????????
