Million dollar bounty for "conclusive proof" of Sasquatch

Unread post by FoilHatGuy »

Apparently Bushnell (manufacturer of camera technology) & "Field & Stream" magazine have combined to offer a "reward" of $1M US dollars for "conclusive photographic proof" of the existence of Bigfoot.

See the link here:

Newslink

What irks me about the story is that (as to the current lack of conclusive proof) they say:

"There are only two alternative explanations: the monsters' non-existence or the searchers' incompetence. It's possible that the animals simply don't exist, and the "evidence" is either hoaxed or the result of honest mistakes. Or, if these monsters do exist, the searchers apparently aren't good enough at their task and can't find the huge animals despite decades of effort and employing high-tech equipment. "

I don't think this is going to work... but at least it will give the sceptics another branch of disbelief to hang on to.

In my personal opinion, the people who have gone "out there" trying to "prove existence" have not done so for monetary reward. Therefore offering a monetary reward, will, at best, only encourage more people to go "out there" to experience the Yowie/Sasquatch phenomena... whether this is a good thing or not, I do not know.

Also, if I were a representative of the company, and someone offered me conclusive photographic proof of the existence of the Yowie, I could easily argue that it wasn't a Yeti, or Sasquatch... and thereby welch on the deal!
The conspiracy theorists... they're all in on it!!!!

Hey FoilHatGuy

Interesting thread, :D I think they could offer a billion dollars and have a million researchers out there trying to prove the existence of the sasquatch/yowie and I don’t think they would come any closer to getting any real evidence, just my personal opinion.

For me they are too smart to ever be caught by conventional means and I don’t want to sound all new age on people but I think we are not spiritually advanced as a population to know the true meaning of there existence. As I tend to sway to the paranormal side of things these days, my opinion and I could go on, is probably irrelevant, and its frustrating to know that it will be beyond many of my years before we will ever get any answers to this dilemma.

Having said that I don’t think it’s impossible to get some answers.

Here here Chewy, these beasties ( i believe ) inhabit all isolate areas of this land, some come in contact with man ..then the games with the humans begin, they learn about our tactics and habits and ' play " with us, we try ineptly to capture evidence. On the other hand i feel that the best chance to capture evidence is with the ones that are isolated and have little or no contact with man, they are less aware of our tricks and technology, that is where i think definitive proof will come from...one day
