After 15mm of rain on Thursday, a dust free ride made for plenty of fun. The challenging “Mt Mitchell Hill climb” saw only a handful of riders make it to the dust, with many having to bail out with only a few metres left to go.
The “Enchanted Forest Section” was a great talking point on Saturday night at the bar and round the campfires, with some riders swearing they had seen a Yeti or “Yowie” in the moss-covered scrub.
The “Barrel Race Demonstration” under lights was a great success with many juniors proving a lot quicker round the barrels than the seniors.
The North Star Sporting Club would like to thank Peter from St John’s Ambulance, paramedic Natalie, all the landowners, Motorcycling Queensland, Dalby Moto and the 50 volunteers who kept the riders safe and well-fed all weekend. Around $12 000 was raised for the North Star community to go towards a new toilet and shower block.
The next ride is at Bunya, near Dalby, on August 16-17. Check our the Dalby Moto website and keep an eye out for the Australian Dirt Bike Magazine for more
