north pine dam QLD
how lucky/unlucky can 1 be. Today I went to the back end of north pine dam at an area that backs onto dense hilly scrub, location at the moment to be withheld, sorry all, I was about to give up and call it day when about 3mtr from the edge of water..Bingo discovered what thought was 1 but a pair aprox 18in long prints, 1 having a big ocular toe impression, forgot my measuring tape again... so went off the length of boot to gauge the size of the print the other is less defined only that their are 2 to 3 definate long outer toe impressions which once again I gauged with my flip phone with all this going on I suddenly heard a 2 loud crashing noises eminating from the tree line 100 to 120mtr opposite my location with camera in hand I took 2 wide angle shots of the tree line where the noises were coming from, my surprise came when viewing all the photos at home on the computer. when looking at both of the photos from the wide angle shots I found a creepy image twice, its appears on the far right above sandy section of ground in the tree line 1 prob its darker than the surrounding shade its a little more defined when u use zoom, I was only able to upload 3 of the 7 images. I asked my wife who now thinks I'm a few sandwiches short of a picnic my stepdaughter reckons I did the impressions myself and I'm total fraud..nice, so if you are able to zoom the image on this site go ahead make your own mind up, around that time the frogs and finches that heard all went to lunch when the noise happened this all happened around 15:30pm...

I am planning a trip in that general area for later this week actually... have you experienced any sightings there?

Nothing actual as yet, but I did get that chilly hair on the back moment after taking those photos of the tree line. Will there on Saturday the 23rd August probably afternoon, if interested, please respond and give you my mob num as I would more than grateful for second pair of eyes for a mini exp as night ventures are a no no as area is closed to general public on sunset, SEQ water couldn't give a substancial reason for why that is...

Hey Homebear.
That image is a bit creepy isn't it?
My first impression was the sun shining on a couple of leaves but when you zoom right in it looks as if the "leaves" are deep within the shadow and there seems to be a darker silhouette behind them.
I'm no photo expert but it is intriguing. It's also late so maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me.
Maybe it's worth going back to that spot and seeing if those "leaves" are still there?
It would be interesting to see a comparison photo taken at the same time of day.
Hope you can post your other photo.
Cheers.

Hey Tops.
Trip out to Hayes Creek sounds like the go.
Let's do it.
Give me a call and we'll set something up.
I can think of a few things that would walk around Hayes Creek at midnight opening garbage cans but let's hope it's a Yowie!
Talk soon.

Re: north pine dam QLD
...hey all... this photo that Homerbear originally posted has had me fascinated for quite a while up until now...I'm no photo expert to say the least...but I put the original photo onto Microsoft Office Picture Manager and then changed the photo through using the hue/saturation filters...as well as the brightness/contrast filters and twiddled them around to see if the suspected Yowie shows up any better...after a short while I managed to come up with the image below using the red filter at the end...if you look to the right hand side within the circle ...a human type figure appears to stand out...now if you open up the image in whatever program you use...just out of curiosity...using the "brightness" slide...move it towards the right hand side to about the "53" mark ...you will see that out of the whole photo...that dark shape stands out more than anything else within the photo below...

...now doing the same thing with this image below which ended up in a blue filter...you will notice that the figure stands out too...

...now...doing the same thing yet again to the image below...if you continue to move the slider to the right until the image is almost disappearing ...the Yowie figure is about the very last thing within the entire photo that you see before it's totally whited out!...which to me indicates that the yowie figure seems the most "solid" looking thing within the whole photo...perhaps I'm going off in a tangent in left field with this but the fact that the Yowie figure is nearly the very last thing that disappears makes me think that it IS there...what do you people think?...

...and finally ...after twiddling around yet again with that last image and blowing it up until it completely fills the screen...this is the image that I get...

...any thoughts on this anybody???...cheers...Stickyfingers.

...further on the subject of Homerbear's photo's... the second photo posted in the "nth pine dam... the other photos" thread... if the same techniques that I used in the
previous post are applied to this photo...

...this is the result...

...as I said in my previous post...move the "brightness" slide to the right and the figure will be the last thing to disappear... again indicating to me that it is a "solid" figure...
yet again people... any thoughts on these?... cheers... Stickyfingers.

this image below... I managed to merge both of the photos that Homerbear took using Photoshop to create a panorama
of the area so as to sort of "get a feel" of the area... in doing so it now places the shadowy "Yowie" figure almost smack
bang in the center of the photo and just to the left as you can now see... (hmmm... maybe I'm now getting a little bit
too obsessed with these photos...perhaps I should finish it there methinks!... lol!)... cheers... Stickyfingers.

Re: north pine dam QLD
Good work Sticky.
That's the area I was referring to in my first post.
It's interesting to see how people viewing the same photo will find different points of interest.
Maybe psychiatrists should start using bush photos instead of ink blots when assessing patients?
Anyway, the thing that caught my attention is that the "eyes" are clearly seen although they appear to come from the darkest part of the image and deep within shadow.
Of course they could just be two strategically placed leaves catching the sunlight but when you factor in the dark silhouette behind them it certainly gives the image of something crouched down and staring directly at the camera (or homebear!)
I'm not drawing any conclusions but it's a very intiguing photo.

I (think) I found the one standing side on.
I just made all the greenery... greener so anything else would stand out.
---
edit: its a tree guys. I might have found something else but i'm not posting until I've made sure.

All I see is shadow play unless yowies really are spirit beings and can fade them selves for foliage to come through
It's easy to matrix these photos but I can honestly say all I see is shadow play and even a ground floor in the main yowie shadow.

Re: north pine dam QLD
...hey Dean... I've had a mess around with the photo and came up with these different versions...

...I know that the sketch below is not probably anywhere close to the positioning that it should be if it is deemed to be a Yowie... but I couldn't resist it...

...and another variation...

...after I toned down the pixilation of the image...I ended up with a blurry vision of the original photo...I'm unable to sharpen up the image any further so I put it through different filters in Photoshop after changing the photo through the colour filters in Microsoft office Picture Manager...anyhow...those were some of the results...I hope it is what you hoped for and helps... cheers...Stickyfingers.

Re: north pine dam QLD
Nice sketches Sticky, the first one reminds me of a guy I work with
anyways... I never knew where or what I was looking for in the original pic, even when the lines where drawn around them. I was looking next to it at what I thought might be a sitting yowie.? I can't seem to paste the pic that shows it up good. (Stainmasters pic from Aug19) If you look to the left of the one which is standing side on, it's head is about shoulder height to it. It is also about two 'yowie's' away and it looks at least twice as wide as the other ones chest. It could also possibly be a tree stump or something. Even in the pics that Deadpool did that cleared everything up, it shows something interesting. You can see a bit of its head and the left part of (what I'm talking abouts) body. Well, thats what I see anyway. If nobody else see's what I'm seeing......well........I'll change beers.....maybe.

I deliberately didn't add any details to the picture because that could possibly effect peoples initial views and I like to keep opinions untainted.

Most likely nothing.

On a serious note ( sorry for the humerous comments dean), the way some of you people have been able to manipulate and enhance the photos just amazes me, it would be handy to be able to send obscure photos to others in the group for detailed enhancement...and yes i know it is probably a readily available computer program that does this...but some of us baby boomers are a bit slow on the uptake...quick pass me my walking frame, still ithink the enhancement process has been a real education for me

I just use Adobe Photoshop. Its amazing what you can do with it (on that note, i'm a graphic designer so.. I don't know how this will affect said decision). You can download it from the Adobe site. Its only a 30 day trial though.
unless you get it from other sources... then its free forever...
