Is there a season for sightings? Are they more active in cold or hot weather?or no pattern?
You could probably talk me into it......i've just moved up to the mountains and i dont know if
i wanna meet ALL THE LOCALS-not the hairy 9ft ones yet anyway!lol
Whats funny is i'd walk the streets of Sydney fearlessy at anytime.....now i wont go over the back fence at night!!lol

I'm in Katoomba......I'm thinkin down the end of kings tableland rd would be the go....
any other suggestions...govetts leap?......I plan to go day and stay o'nite.....just waitin for it to warm up a bit.I was up blackheath mountain last week near hargreaves lookout and i went past this tree that had a big chunk out of it..i took a photo from the car coz i didnt feel so good about hangin around(my confidence is building daily.....i want answers) in hindsight i should of taken closer photo's but there wasn't much point as my camera is my phone and it only has infrared so i cant put photo online. Its right next to the road,2metres back and the only other explanation would be a bullbar swipe but it wasnt THAT close to the road. When i do go o/nite i'll post on here and if i don't post the next day..............send a party for me!I'm certainly a believer........seek and ye shall find i heard! :P

Hey cozza

Yeah, tablelands road would be a great starting point I wish I could do that trip myself but alas do not have a car at the moment. :? I went there a few years back with the old man but he wasn’t keen to go past the old hospital, he was worried about the suspension in his car or so he says, I reckon the nerves got the better of him on the day.  Past the old hospital is where it just starts to get interesting, so I’ve been told. Hopefully one day I’ll get there to experience it fully.

I guess we all feel it when you get to the hospital, and I wonder if we're really meant to wander into such places. It becomes a personal question. Eg) I have an aversion to 'ecto'tourism - like ghost tours etc for a cheap supernatural thrill at the expense of the dignity of tormented souls. I see parallels in chasing the hairy man into territory which feels unwelcoming. Thoughts?

I have often thought of that myself Shar*Chi and you bring up some valuable questions. Should we or shouldn’t we delve into the unknown? I think the best way to sum it is our motive. If we are doing these things for a thrill or psychological trip so to speak then I think the motive is wrong. If however we are doing it for science in a respectfully manner to learn and grow spiritually, without harming anything in the process I think that is ok. In my opinion it’s your ‘motive’ which is the key.

Aye, I don't think sheer 'sake of science' is enough for me either as I feel there needs to be some kind of ethical or spiritual fulfilment to visit a particular place, and respect is central to that. I'm gradually learning about the 'dreaming' of various places atm, and that's raising a lot more questions than answers lol. It brings to my mind Steve Irwin and his freak death, a part of me has the feeling he may have somehow upset the dreaming of a few spots, but i guess that's really letting the superstitions run wild

Scrap my last request for info on the hospital....i've found it in the forums...thanks.
Pretty interesting i must say........from the pics of tablelands rd near the hospital i can see why the night drive is not one to be taken lightly,i imagined it to be a wider track,my dilema is i drive a suzuki sierra so if a yowie wanted me he could just pick me and the car up and put me under his arm :(

I did see a system somewhere that they use in Sth africa to prevent car jackings where flames shoot out from under the doors....... but i think i'm safer with yowies than greenies!

Cozza and Nick I`d be happy to go on a trip. I myself have actually been looking for someone else to accompany me as I don`t think its the saffest thing to be roaming around the bush by oneself (especially at night which I believe is when they are most active)!

In regards to the ethical issues surrounding searching for the yowie (brought up by Starchild and co). I believe we have an obligation to go into the field to search for this being (as long as it is conducted in a non-destructive manner eg. someone out looking to kill it). Through our searching and sharing of information we will be able to gain a better understanding of this phenomena and the nature of reality itself. I personally believe this being is so incredibly elusive because it is interdimensional in nature (that is - it can shift its vibrational frequency to step in and out of dimensional levels). This would explain why it is so incredibly elusive - why there has been no concrete findings of a body or skeletal remains) why it has the ability to appear as a flesh and blood creature and yet somehow seemingly disappear or merge into its environment! In many of the photographs captured the creature often seems non-physical but there is a clear indication of facial and body features. There will come a time when technology will develop to prove that these interdimensional beings exist! Until that time I believe our field of research will be subject to ridicule. Its amazing how people don`t learn from the past. Before the advent of the microscope people would laugh at the notion that living organisms (bacteria and viruses) so small that they cannot be seen are capable of killing people! Remember the famous astronomers who lived under the constant threat of the inquisition and being burned at the stake for stating what is now common understanding! Or my favourite! When it was widely believed in scientific circles that the world was flat and people who thought otherwise were crazy and foolish! I believe that future technological advancements will vindicate our current research and exploration of this being!

Hey SAB

I tend to think along the same lines these days there just has to be something more to it

My car finally broke down; you should get in contact with cozza his looking for someone to go out with.

I wish I could get up there and do a scout out with you guys but without a car it makes it difficult.
