being tracked up caboolture way

Hey kids, its Alex again - some of the old school regulars may remember me. But i'm out of hospital and nearly 100% again.
Anyway - here's the latest. Was walking down (forget the name of the actual road) a road next to what looked like either a pine plantation or forest up Beerwah way. It looked kind of dense, plenty of farms around. It would have been about.. 10-ish? (damn public transport)
Either way, I was being tracked. (or so I assume)
I did all the necessary steps to make sure it wasn't an echo or anything. I'd walk, stop - then i'd here *crunch crunch* stop. Now, i'm walking on a tarmac road here, so i'm not making crunchy noises. So i'd stop, whatever it was would stop. I'd start walking, it'd walk too. I'd say (since the operation, senses aren't all that good.. 50m in to the forest?) it would have been, whatever it was.
So I conducted the next test. A sprint. It could catch up easily, but whenever I stopped, it would too.. about one to three steps after. As per usual it wasn't directly beside me. Always about at a 45 degree angle behind me, as if observing me. Creepiest part about it was how quiet it was. Not a single sound apart from me walking and whatever else it was walking behind me. I'm sure it wasn't a human, as the footsteps sounded heavy. When I went for a quick sprint - it was thudding; not super loud or anything, but enough for me to notice it was hauling hominid arse.
Once I got past the plantation/forest it stopped - but I still got that feeling of being watched. Thats the only thing that creeped me out about the whole experience.
Once again, i'm not sure if this is even worth posting, but - ideas on it? Was it an echo? Imagination (hominds were the last thing on my mind at that stage, as I was freezing my wossnames off). I know for a fact it wasn't my imagination though - its happened to me before so i've kind of picked up the signs.
Anyway guys, its good to be back - hope y'all missed me!
