Spore is a multi-genre "massively single-player online game" developed by Maxis and designed by Will Wright. It allows a player to control the evolution of a species from its beginnings as a unicellular organism, through development as an intelligent and social creature, to interstellar exploration as a spacefaring culture.
I just got it today. After playing it for awhile I realised something. It is
awesome. For those of you who are gamers or whatever, i'd highly suggest this game. Its like a cross between The Sims, Civilization & Black & White. Its simply
amazing.
It gets a 5/5 on the deadpool scale of approval.

I don't think you can add hair, but yes - I am in the process of making myself a Yowie.

I will show you how he goes as he progresses.

Can you make your own texture maps in it? or does it work on a texture generator? otherwise you could at least fashion yourself some hair skins

Texture maps?! Texture generators?! Wow. You know your stuff.
It comes pre-packaged with "skins" for your animal but no fur as such. I'm onto it though
There are ways to do real-time short hair fur, but I can see how they would be tricky to implement in Spore. Long shaggy fur and hair would not be doable without intracharacter collision detection, which Spore doesn't have.
Damnit - but you CAN paint on fur. Good enough?

Since this is an off the topic forum - I thought if people don't mind, I might keep everyone up to date on my, as iwantobelieve said, an "intergalactic Yowie".
Something to do, and to keep people amused I guess.
Yes, sometimes I have alot of spare time..

Yeah I know that feeling, that's when strange stuff gets doodled in CS
I would love to see some pics of it and see how your intergalactic yowie grows/morphs/evolves

Did you get it a furr coat yet or is it a hairless yowie?

Well, here's what it looked like (ahh, the cell stage, its wonderful how it doesn't really matter what it looks like):
Here's what it looks like now (slowly getting there):
And here's what its going to look like (once I get to that stage of evolution):

Well the end result looks close enough for a game generated figure

you did well with your spored yowie lol I'm guessing not many others if any are making their own BF/Yeti/Yowie

The final stage I got from the creature creator (all parts unlocked) - i'm doing it the hard way though & finding all those parts myself in game.

Oooohhh! Well good luck on that, should keep you entertained for a bit
Yay for cheat codes!

Hahaha, no cheat codes involved. The creature creator is just something to mess about with in game. Nothing to do with the game-play itself as such.
Its like in Sim City or something how you can design your own buildings or whatever on the side.
