Dean and I are currently on expedition. I Grabbed Dean by the hair and dragged him out of the house.

We made our way through some pretty intense scrub land. We have found so much cool stuff and have some awesome pictures coming your way. The only problem is we did not bring out camera cable so you guy will have to wait to see the pic's.

Stay tunned..................

The story continues......

This is the view of the unsealed Rd from the Queen Vic Hospital.
Image

Seemingly a healthy tree, one of many snapped for no apparent reason. Dean was trying to replenish the tree with his water bottle. Please ignore the cheap dye job....my fault!
Image

We found a lot of healthy trees snapped. We don’t believe that all areas of tableland road are active. There is definitely corridors where they transverse.
Image

This is a large tree bite, which we found everywhere. They are always between 6 and 7 feet.

Why are they always between 6 and 7 feet?

If this is a Black Cockatoo, why are they at the same height? Does it carry a tape measure?

Wouldn’t you think that a birdie would do this higher up in the tree?

Where are these birds I have not seen any flying around?

What must their jaw capacity be to create these holes?

Has anyone seen a Black Cockatoo do this at that height?

No claw marks seen to maintain it position at that height.....

Image

Will upload some more pic's tomorrow.........

This tree looked like the bark was torn off of the tree upwards.

More tree break pictures....

We set up camp, the weather was a constant light rain fall and as the ant where about so I decided to sit on the roof of my car.

Thanks for the pics Lasso

Some questions

What sort of distance did you cover along Tablelands Road? Did you drive all the way to the end?

Was anything heard or observed at camp where you sat on the roof of your car?

The picture of Dean and Mike holding the snapped trees is impressive in my opinion :D

Interesting to find a tipi like structure right next to a rock stack.

Anyways thanks again for the pics, looks like you enjoyed yourselves.

Just seen something interesting in one of the pics, looks like some kind of dog or chupacabra with eye shine?

Has anyone else noticed this?

Did you have a dog with you Lasso? or did Mike bring one?

Well spotted Chewy, but i think it must be a pet. I seriously doubt Dean could be that close to an animal without knowing it is there.

We drove almost to the end. The road is over 25kms long and we found more evidence of yowies at the beginning of the road and then again about another 4 kms along, then nothing. There seems to be corridors of activity along this road.

Was anything heard or observed at camp where you sat on the roof of your car?

No there was no unusual noises. The weather was a little wet and Dean had said to me that he has never heard of a yowie encounter in the rain.

Yes that is a great picture, two healthy trees snapped at the same height in the same direction.

Interesting to find a tipi like structure right next to a rock stack.

We found that very interesting as well. The position of the rock stack, with the two sticks crossing it directly pointing to the t-pee structure....we were pleased at this find.

Mike brought his dog with him.

Thanks for the question Chewy.

No fun in the car, maybe next time I will take a couple of chairs so the ants can't get me. I think all the ants combine forces to seek revenge on any humans in that area, they seemed to be everywhere......lol

Where can we get a AYR hat or T Shirt, i think it would be a great coversation starter...people will ask about it, ....soooo who do i have to bribe..kill...coerce...give my last born child to??? ...i wants a precious

Also, how much interest would there be to run a National Convention get together thingy, i reckon youd get many hundreds of people attend...am i wrong or is it too much hard work to organise?

Hi Lass.

The tee pee and rock stack appears to be very close to a road. Did you spot them from your vehicle?

Also, the ground around it seemed quite sandy. Did you find any prints, human or otherwise, that might explain the structures?

Yes it was close to the road and we were in the car when Dean spotted it.

The ground was sandy but there was a lot of rain the night before we found the t-pee. The footprints would have been washed away.

There was one a few year ago in Sydney organise by Mike.

As for the hat and shirt, looks like to have to win a competition to get one of those. I will work on that for you as Dean is in a bad mood right now.

Like his owner..chief is fairly cowardly..
