Hey Seeker.

What distance does that trail cam get triggered?

Can it be set at a certain distance so it only goes off when something is close by and in optimum position or will it keep taking photos as something gets closer and closer to it?

Wow seeker I don't think that is enough information about the cam..........can you go into more detail.

No really, tell me do you only use this in your backyard or do you use it out in the bush? ( joke)

Seeker I am looking forward to some of your footage when you manage to take the cam out in the field. It looks like you could get some great images with this cam.

So going by your last post you would get about 3 or 4 hours of video.

How much did the trail cam cost?

Sounds like a good system Seeker.

I might try to acquire one myself.

Like you said, it would be great to have 10 of them.

..lol... funny as... sorry about that YL1... it does sort of keep going on and on in your head eh???... um... just in case your singing the wrong words to the song... I just thought I'd post this for you mate... (don't want you making any mistakes now do we???)...

THE LUMBERJACK SONG

BARBER:
I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay.
I sleep all night and I work all day.

MOUNTIES:
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

BARBER:
I cut down trees. I eat my lunch.
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.

MOUNTIES:
He cuts down trees. He eats his lunch.
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he goes shoppin'
And has buttered scones for tea.

He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

BARBER:
I cut down trees. I skip and jump.
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars.

MOUNTIES:
He cuts down trees. He skips and jumps.
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing
And hangs around in bars?!

He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

BARBER:
I cut down trees. I wear high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie,
Just like my dear Papa.

MOUNTIES:
He cuts down trees. He wears high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra?!

[talking]
What's this? Wants to be a girlie?! Oh, My!
[Mounties all get up and begin to walk away]

[girlfriend cries and says]
And I thought you were so rugged! Poofter!
[girlfriend runs away crying]

[music restarts and Mounties return and begin singing again]
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
He's a lumberjack, and he's okaaaaay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

Seeker wrote: I bought the set-up before the financial crisis and it came with the bear proof box, 2 SD cards and the python cable lock for about $375 AUD. It's a bit more expensive now. I have added a link below as the same Ebay seller is still selling the same kit. He is a good seller, who ships quickly and packs the items well. He also marks the item as "gift" so you have no problems with customs and import duties.
You should probably 'edit' the post and take out that 'gift' part to protect the seller - if people want info like that PM them 8)

These cams are so cool.
My mate is a deer hunter. He sets about 3 of these cameras up all the time up in N/E Victoria.
I have seen some amazing images of deers, wallabies, foxes hawks, eagles and a big feral cat.

Heres a link to my mates cam shots / videos.
http://people.aapt.net.au/~ventor/New%2 ... index.html

And this is part of the email he sent me
We have 2 scoutguard cameras ans 1 wildview camera.
The scoutguard cameras are better, theyre infrared with 5mp camera, and the wildview is older, its a flash camera and has a 2mp camera.
This is for your yowie mates isnt it???LOL

Thanks for posting that Stormfreak,

Its important to remember with the scoutguard, not to create a shot with foliage in the foreground. The IR flashes too much on it and the rest of the background picture gets dulled out because of it.

I think i will do some experiements to show you what I mean.

... great link Stormfreak!... I was looking at one of the videos and saw the wallaby move and revealing what looked like a homonid shaped figure to the right hand side and thought whoa!... what's this????... here it is...

Image

... but looking at the other video next to it...

Image

...saw the same thing to the right hand side... and???... a tree trunk!!! (oops) .... exactly the same shape but with different lighting due to the wallaby in front of the camera reflecting the white light back into the camera... just goes to show... that what your mind thinks it sees and what really is can be a whole lot different eh??? (thumb up) (rad) ... lol!... oh well... one day a Yowie will be captured on one of those cams I imagine!!!... cheers... Stickyfingers. (cool) (jest)

Heres a pic of my mate setting up one of his cams. It takes him a while to do it as he screws these long screws into the trees so they are harder to pinch.
