Your opinions..

Unread post by Glenn39 »

I was wondering what you all think of these three clips, one of them is famous and although not of the Yowie, it is related to the subject.

First of the Patterson-Gimlin footage of Bigfoot from 1967. Has this been proved a fake or not?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJjUt2sX ... re=related

Next, the Redwood footage from 1995. This is a very good clip!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=intHl9Jv ... re=related

And, then there is this apparent Yowie sighting, don't recall the date. I am sure this has been discussed before. Is it a Hoax or real?

Interested in your thoughts.

I don't think much of any of those tbh. The infamous Patterson Gimlin footage is compelling but far from conclusive, the latter 2 seem utterly faked.
This video, albeit probably faked, nevertheless points the way forward imo: http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=TMfGSiAuV ... re=related
You won't hear me shut up about thermal imaging, it's the only way to get one on film afaic.

I like the freeman footage. Saw an interview the guy had done about it. He was soo scared after the encounter he prayed to Jesus while he was in a ditch, saying "if you get me outa here I wont bother them ever again"

He seemed very genuine

I agree, he seems genuine, but I thought he'd been caught out before/after 'embellishing' evidence?

Yeah again, compelling but very inconclusive... comes down to whether you trust the cameraman or not. In all honesty, footage aint where it's at, it's getting out there and having an experience... if u brave enough (or crazy enough!) (scared)

To me the Freeman footage is very compelling if it is indeed a real encounter. The comparison made with the creature in the Patterson-Gimlin film is a good one and there are striking similarities, mainly with the creature's colour and bulk, as well as the face, or the impression of the face.

Here is the Freeman footage examined on a news report:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWIeYNxHUBQ

Thing that gets me is if they do visit watering holes like the one in Freeman's film, then why hasn't anyone set up a trailcam, perhaps even with bait like fish or something. Surely, they would catch one on film that way eventually. Another thing, these things are primarily nocturnal right? Any daytime sightings would be an incredible stroke of luck, and so may lend themselves to sceptics debunking them as a hoax. In my opinion the Patterson-Gimlin film appears to them literally stumbling on the creature by pure chance at a river's edge, and probably caught it unaware while drinking.

Look forward to the day when I can have my own experience. :)

Good call Mikka...the acting is fake...a real Yowie would have not put itself in that position.

I don't really buy it...
He would have you believe that he feared for his life, yet the videos narration was easily loud enough to alert the creature of his presence. IMO they all fall into the maybe pile, they are probably ALL faked, but i am not dumb enough to say they are definate hoaxes.

Here's one you could throw right into that maybe pile...

The thing about the Patterson-Gimlin footage is that it has been examined by primate experts and deemed to be real based mainly upon the creature's structure and characteristics of movement. If it was a hoax it was an absolute anatomically correct genius job!

In this documentary on Youtube, there is some interesting theories and explanations from the experts that make a lot of sense with regards to it's physical properties and even it's apparent sounds.

From the old grey matter, the person/couple that filmed that video works in the movie industry working with costumes. I had a quick look for the thread but cant find it

Anonimust,

That second video creeps me out a bit. Maybe the guy is just hopeless with a camera. I'm sure if i had a BF on my camera i could hold it still enough to make the footage good evidence. (after all it wasnt chasing the camera man)

That last video...lmfao...i love how he pushes the golf cart over at the end.
