Re: Four Round Comp..Get Your Votes in!!!!
Ok there were many wonderful contributions to the competition and in all honesty I would like to see a few winners but there can only be one worth mentioning here.
Under the light of the work that one individual did and the many hours spent drawing up a great rendition of the yowie I would have to give my vote to sticky for genius bit of artwork.
Well done mate! This one of stickys gets my vote

...thanks for the nice words Chewy... I appreciate them
... thanks too Lasso
... well my vote is pretty torn between a couple of Yowielover1's stickers with the yellow/red sunsets which would stick out like dog's manly bits on the bumpers of cars... some nice versions there YL1 my friend... well done... and then Chewy had some good versions too ... (in particular the HD second one you did... it looked great)...
...then what about forestguy's Drop bears one???... it still cracks me up when I see it to this day!
... and also Seeker's one with the Yowie in part shadow... (which incidentally inspired the sticker that you voted on at the beginning of this thread Chewy... thanks for that Seeker
)...and Shazzoir... great attempt too
...
...but my vote is going to go to Strange1's first sticker... this one...

... the reason being?... it was a benchmark for me to aspire to... a great concept... **Sticky pats Strange1 on the back for great work** ... well done mate... cheers... Stickyfingers.

Re: Fifth Round Comp..Get Your Votes in!!!!
Can I be a d i c k and vote for mine? It was designed to feature the AYR colours... but on a deeper level, the imagery was a play on when the sun goes down the 'research' really begins because 'they' come out to play.
The menacing looking yowie is supposed to denote the 'thing' thats watching us when we get that feeling and also amounts to a mental picture of the nameless dread it can inflict.
Readability simple and with those colours would stick out like a dogs nut on the back of my dark metalic blue Beamer.
Hmm...maybe I will just get one printed for myself...i now feel like i thought about this waay too much

Re: Fifth Round Comp..Get Your Votes in!!!!
my only problem with that sticker is its not the right size for the comp...165x80 its not....does that make it void? Its a good design though I am a little aprehensive about monkey eyes - we are not dealing with a monkey...I am sure maybe the 'maker' can design another at the required size.

Ah thanks Lil foot But I was ineligible from the start as I had won a previous prize. I must admit that the sticker could have been better, the heading needed some work, though I don't Know my way around Photoshop yet!lil foot wrote: honourable mention goes to chewy, if it had a bit more oomph!with the title it would have won me
Anyways thanks for the vote of confidence

OK, gang, I'm putting my vote in for Sticky's fantastic work of art - the one with AYR in blue fading to yellow, of the Yowie in the bush setting.... it's on Page 2 of the forum comp thread. Sorry, I don't know how to copy that image to here, Cass!
Great work from the guys and girls who know 'who's out there'.

YEP! That's it, Chewy!
I liked so many of the entries, but this one the writing was super-clear to read, and contrasted well with the background. I was also mindful of Cass requesting AYR colours, so maybe the writing could fade from red to yellow to match this?

Very hard choice to narrow it down to one, I think everyone has done an outstanding job
Im going to have to go for Stickys one purely on the fact it reminds me so much of the areas of bush I head out to

...yeah Seeker my friend... I might do a revamped version of it when the votes are all finished... I don't want to sway anybodies vote by putting in another version... that wouldn't be a fair thing to do on my part methinks... and the competition is finished after all eh?... cheers... Sticky, can you change the black shading in the AYR capitals to red to make them stand out more? It's a nice touch having them in a different font but I think if you tweek the colour a bit, you'll be on a winner! And perhaps if you can change the font of the web site address to a more readable one - it is a bumper sticker after all..... hard to read at 100kmph!![]()
A good job done by all though!

This was a hard choice. I sat down with nanna and she stood a couple of metres away from the computer screen. This is the one she could see the best with her impaired vision.

Re: Fifth Round Comp..Get Your Votes in!!!!
This one has received my vote. It is in proportion with the prerequisites of the proportions stipulated in the initial competition boundary rules. Not only does it stands out and is visual from some distance, it has an ayre of class.
I know Peter has put in over 5 hours work on his original graphic. It has a vision of quality and is differential of any other cryptid stickers that I have seen around the world.

All of the entries were great... i particularly liked strange1's creations and forestguys dropbear one was awesome... and i loved the colours of yowielovers creations..
But the one most deservant of my vote would have to be stickys... the colour scheme is great and the yowie is remarkable to say the least, definately an attention-grabber! Anyways, congrats to everyone who had a crack, they are all great in my opinion..

Re: Fifth Round Comp..Get Your Votes in!!!!
There's some great work here, and it is entirely subjective, and ultimately dependant on the purpose of this sticker and the message the head of this board wishes to convey to the general public. For me it's a close call between Strange1's and Stickyfingers.
My vote goes to Strange1's yowie sticker as it's the total package. Allow me to elaborate! It captures the solid yet ethereal aspects of the yowie and the way it may be seen in a fleeting glimpse. The yowie depiction also captures the very real photographic quality of an encounter, slightly indigenous/native appearance, and overall primitive feel of the creature. It also focuses on the eyes which immediately brings to mind 'the sense of being watched'. It cleverly asks the reader to consider the possibility of there being more to this particular modern myth. The transparent lettering captures the meeting plane between our world and the yowie's world as well as having a technological and contemporary feel, consistent with AYR keeping up with modern technology in it's approach to this research. The AYR colors are all subtly there also. This sticker is an exciting teaser and directs the viewer to this AYR site to know more. My only criticism (which deserves to be corrected by it's creator) is the sticker isn't in the required prerequisite dimensions specified for this competition.
My next choice has to be Stickyfingers sticker! The type face is original, layout impressive, the AYR colors are predominant, bright, and vibrant, and the hairy guy takes centre stage with an original and slightly indigenous look as sometimes described. It also features the footprint cast which is still one of the most convincing pieces of physical evidence for the actual existence of the creature. My only criticism is the sticker is overly busy with words and the yowie exceedingly well groomed, though this may be exactly what the sticker needs.
Of note is yowielover1's sticker with it's AYR colors and great layout, with the setting sun positioned behind the 'o' in yowie. Very well thought out. The yowie is also striking. My only criticism is the depiction of the yowie, though great, doesn't capture the iconic yowie look. It reminds me a little too much of the white haired morlocks from the various Time Machine movies.

Well done Sticky
Maybe some of the other images can be used in the new website as well. I did suggest a while ago that it might be a good idea for people to make an illustration to go with their fave Yowie story...perhaps that can be the next comp

Re: Fifth Round Comp..Get Your Votes in!!!!
Congratulations Sticky.
I prefer the "Dark and Moody" look and the new lettering looks great.
For the sake of Steve's Nanna I can see why the red background was chosen for the visually impaired but I think the lettering is much more readable on the dark version.
Maybe the gold lettering should be changed so the words don't get lost in the background sun?
Anyway, congratulations once again and enjoy the fruits of your labour.
