Why not get the MythBusters to come down under to have a poke around?
It might be popular science but they do follow the scientific method and prove/disprove/confirm plausibility of things impartially...
I've no doubt that Jamie could wrassle a yowie with his dry wit.

I don't know but it would probably involve some high explosives... and a crash test yowie!

The air cannon filled with a boulder, that they used in the chicken v airplane myth and a few others would be an appropriate response to the hairy one lobbing a few rocks at you!
