I hope you will enjoy Tablelands road... I know I did. There seems to be corridors that the yowies use in the first 10k or so. Look for the tree bites and we found a great rock stack and T-pee. Look forward to you report from your trip.

You should also have a read of the trip that we did around Oct last year. There is a thread call Dean and Lasso Tableland expedition.

when you get to the end of the dirt...there is a lookout on the right...where odd lights have been viewed from over the years(over the dam).
In front of the carpark is a track on the right as you pull in..if you follow that for about 10 minutes you will find another spectacular lookout on a ridge...alongside the the last 100 metres or so on the left on the way to this lookout have been a few odd reports of something large moving round(not pigs), and also reports of large things stomping round in the valley below the lookout.
About 5 years ago, Neil and I interviewed the then caretaker of the mansion/hospital/whatever on the right on tablelands..
I asked
"have you had any experiences with yowies"
Not the right question. (death)
caretaker-no
Neil " have you ever heard someone move round your house at night".
Caretaker- My brother and I have previously chased someone who would walk around in the pitch dark...and when we chased him he could move quite fast and we could never catch him
I am unaware of any yowie reports from that area for many years though..

I remember reading somewhere about some strange lights being observed in the Blue Mountains off a lookout, and the lights were described as being or looking like somewhat of a ghost town. I don't think this area was over the dam though and was more in the area of heavily forested terrain.

Does anyone know more on this?

...hey Mike... I'm just curious my friend... is there some sort of friendly or not so friendly rivalry between Ayr and Rex Gilroy???... (I'm assuming that he is the Rex that we are talking about here)... or have Dean and yourself ever joined up with Rex on an expedition in pursuit of a Yowie???... after all... we're all searching for the same thing aren't we???... it just seems to me... the more the merrier... I notice that people never really cross reference to the Rex Gilroy sight via links when posting about a particular topic... have you or Dean ever met Rex???... as I say... I'm just curious mate... cheers... Stickyfingers. (cool) (happy) (jest)

Hi Bush Baby

Looks like said Authority Test is going to be on in the week following the Table Lands Road Expedition, but at this stage I think I'll treat the expedition as a break from study and attend, that is unless my test ends up scheduald for the Monday , then I'm afraid that will put an end to the exibition for me. Sounds like the test will be mid week right now, it is still a crock cause i have now got to can some of my leave, just one day in the middle. THats what earns my crusts , so thats what i've got to go with.

...possibly my friend... I just don't know... that's why I'm asking the question... I know that a lot of people frown upon Tim the Yowie man ... I think that it's because that many moons ago he was a genuine Yowie researcher... but once he became a tad bit famous through TV appearences that he has apparently lost credibility because of his stardom... at least that's what I gather from my own observations... but with Rex Gilroy... I kind of get the impression that there is either some friendly rivalry or perhaps... not so friendly rivalry between AYR and Rex that's all... I'm just curious as to what the reasons are ???... then again... maybe I'm just reading too much into this???...

...as I said before... I'm curious as to whether AYR and Rex or even Tim the Yowie man have ever collaborated together with each other in pursuit of the same objective... to prove the existence of the Yowie!!!... let's face it... if EVERYBODY got together and pooled their equipment together... we may just catch that sucker!!!!!! (taz) ...

...I joined this website in July 2006... so whatever prior history there is must be before that methinks!... I suppose if I trawl through the old posts that I may possibly find my answer... but when there are 982 topics within these forums... I could spend the rest of my life looking for the answer!!!!... then again... if I'm opening up old wounds... and Admins decide that it is better not said the reasons why... just say that on here and I'll drop the subject altogether... I don't want to create another "situation" here by asking these questions...

...so anybody... what is the story with this my friends???... just post the links to the appropiate threads if you like... it's just that it's not only me that is curious... others are to... when Admins that are "in the know" say things that refer to a past reason to be having a joke about them... I'd like to know the reasons why behind it... so please... anybody???... cheers... Stickyfingers. (cool) (happy) (jest)

...no worries champ... you actually open ended the invitation by welcoming anybody along... so you have'nt actually been rude! (thumb up) ...it's just that of all weekends... I won't be in Sydney... I'll be in Cessnock!!!... one of the kids birthday party's... bummer eh???... that's why I haven't put my hand up to come along my friend... but if you intend to do another close by at one time or another... I may tag along with you guys for an overnighter... (although I have no camping equipment whatsoever... then again... how much does a small tent cost nowadays)???...

...unfortunately too... I have a stuffed back and am unable to walk long distances (cries) ... but if you need someone to stay back at camp and (guns pose) "mind the fort" (tank) ... I'm up for it!!! (woot) ... hey guys... good luck on the night though... I hope you get to meet nice people and have a great time!!!... and Bush Baby... thanks for being concerned... you're a top bloke (thumb up) (rad) ... cheers... Stickyfingers. (cool) (happy) (jest)

...thanks Bush Baby... I appreciate that my friend... and what you said highlighted in blue above is spot on too (thumb up) (rad) ... hence my question about Rex Gilroy and others from different organisations on whether there have ever been collaborations between AYR and them... as I posted earlier... we're all here for the same reasons as you say so yourself!!... so Mike or Dean my friends... has this ever been done before???... collaborations with other people outside of AYR???... if not... what about going along that path in the near future???... if everybody puts their equipment together there is a more likelyhood of getting evidence of a Yowie after all???... all parties could take equal credit on the discovery!!! (claps) (claps hands) (taz) ...cheers... Stickyfingers. (cool) (happy) (jest)

...... so have there been, or is there going to be, any collaborations with any other researcher with AYR?

Of course.... (taz)
We have previously hosted overseas and interstate guests round in NSW.
And also swap locations/ideas/reports etc with fellow researchers who have no associations with AYR at all.
Most of the "work" anyway is done by individuals rather than any "formal" groups.
The problem also is that many researchers are not interested in any from of "collaborations" and would rather wander into a new area, not ask any questions from locals..then leave..
Like any other activity...people and personalities sometimes clash..... fringe beliefs and ideas are not immune from this..its the nature of the beast.. (happy)

...excellent!... have we any posts within these forums that we can be linked to so that we can read up on past activities???... I'm really interested in who the overseas and interstate guests were... I remember seeing on this website somewhere Dean being interviewed by an overseas programme called Paranormal TV...I have a link here of it... Dean is on about a minute and a half into it...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXFcyVHLBgs ...this is part 1...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pjpuqhkFuk ...and this is part 2...

... that "Yowie roar" in part 2 is incredible!!!... is that programme one of the overseas guests that you are talking about Mike or are there more???... and have you or Dean ever worked in collaboration with Rex Gilroy or even met him before???... (perhaps he was one of the interstate guests that you were referring to)???... and in the second video... there is a Dr Steve Van Dyke... being that he and Dean were on the same programme... did Dean actually get to meet him too???... anyhow... interesting reading my friend... thanks for answering ... cheers... Stickyfingers. (cool) (happy) (jest)

I have no idea...I have been posting off and on here for several years now...maybe they are on the site/forums whatever...wandering round the bush..pointing at previous witnesss locations aint very riveting reading anyway :)
I'm really interested in who the overseas and interstate guests were...
Just other researchers..I could go "jack peters" or whatever and people would go "who".
is that programme one of the overseas guests that you are talking about Mike or are there more???.
No....and yes there are more
and have you or Dean ever worked in collaboration with Rex Gilroy or even met him before???
No ... we have never worked with him..I have been at locations where he was checking out the area at the same time though... :)
perhaps he was one of the interstate guests that you were referring to???
err...no...Rex lives in the blue mts..
did Dean actually get to meet him too???
You would have to ask Dean...

...I should have made my question clearer... it was an open ended question for either Dean or yourself... what I meant was... for Dean... was he one of the interstate guests... being that Dean is in Victoria... my apologies Mike... again... thanks for your replies... cheers...
