Hi yowielover1.
If some form of these questions/answers is in some of the previous threads then my apologisies.!
Just some of the threads were so long that to go through everything...you know the story..
So I thought I would start a new thread..

Fair enough too.
Can you tell us how long you and your brother have been in this "work"looking for cryptids in the bush please...Or looking for anything that is odd/weird that you think is relevent.!
How many supposed witnesses to odd events have you and your brother interviewed.?
What sort of books/articles/writers have influenced you the most.?
I found a few really interesting comments you made during a quick trawl.
YL!-Mikka and I saw it...amazingly enough it looked like my avatar blinking...by the time they came to us it was gone.

YL!-Do not in any way assume from your comfortable position that we did not hear bipedal foot steps at all.
What do you think the eyeshine/footsteps was from. ?
On a side not..I am in serious envy of you guys getting hold of the thermal camera soon..nice work.!!

I did not see the eyeshine at all but when YL1 and Mikka shone their torches directly at us through the bushes, that's when they saw the eyeshine. I blinked a couple of times from the glare and I heard Mikka say it's blinking etc. Maybe there was something directly inbetween us that I was unaware of? Maybe due to my eyes being night vision damaged it was me. Seems a little coincidental that I should blink and then they say it's blinking.
Hey there - maybe I'm wrong, but I thought humans can't produce eyeshine? No tapetum lucidum?
Edited to add - Shazz has touched on this issue in the other crypto issues thread.

Yeah, ok.... I knew that, but here's me making assumptions that you would have included all relevant info.
Do you have cataracts, cancer etc?
Edited for clarity.

You learn something new everyday...
Can we have a look at some photos of yourself taken with a flash please without the red eye function activated..at short distance from the camera in the dark or a photo with a torch pointed at you in the dark at a short distance...
I am very interested in yowielover1 take on what he was hearing/seeing that night.

WTF?
I might be going crazy but I just finished reading a lengthy post by Dean and a response by YL1 but they both seem to have disappeared.
Are the forum gremlins back again?

I really cant believe this eyeshine has come up again Mark, more so after the tests where even your brother disagreed with you.
So your saying we saw eyeshine from you at 150 meters through forest (Im going to forget size as its a moot point at this distance to start with).
Neil has said to me on the night and many after that whatever it was was only 10/15 meters infront of us, so either we are both liars or we are mistaken at what 15 meters is compared to 150 meters or maybe we are both stupid and dont have a clue ? (again im not mentioning the size ask your brother)

I’m a little stumped as to the dogs in the background for the last few seconds though is this something that was edited in.?
Oopss..I was trying to lay a video with the audio underneath ...filmed with the cap on...thought I had inserted the audio over the whole track..
damn.. vegas editing is complicated compared to premiere....tried to just delete the audio timeline but ....I just fixed it now...

Hi Mike,
Thanks for putting up the audio but Dean did request it to be 15 seconds prior to the radio patch from when he first smelt the sulphur until the shouting was over. I know you don't have it but it would have been nice to hear the entire monolog un edited.

I've been watching and reading on the sidelines for a while, and one of the things that has puzzled me most about this whole episode (more so than questions such as 'did it happen') is how anyone seriously seeking evidence of an engimatic creature as the fabled yowie would bother trying to do so blind-stonkingly drunk. Judging from the audio, some of these guys make cricketer Andrew Symonds look like an articulate Rhodes scholar!
If there is one thing this recording has revealed, apart from the very real and abject panic/terror experienced by Dean, a couple of his so-called mates were too intoxicated to a) care, b) render assistance, or c) attempt to seek out further evidence of any encounter themselves.
I can see why it has taken so long for this (albeit brief) audio clip to come to light. It doesn't reflect favourably on some people who were there that evening.
While the audio is in itself not proof of a yowie encounter, it is supportive of Dean's story as he tells it, along with the pictures of his extensive bruising.
Perhaps now the character assassination can stop. Dean has offered up more detail than most (I can't recall the last time anyone exposed themselves *pun intended* to the degree Dean has in his frank re-telling of his experience).
There may be 'glaring holes' and not the kind of detail people want, but like so much Fortean phenomena, the most tantalising of evidence often remains just beyond our grasp. In this field of interest, and though far from satisfactory for skeptic and believer alike, sometimes anecdotes are all we get. Plaster casts are a bonus! Bruises a plus! Bodies, well, keep wishing. For those of us that subscribe to a paranormal theory, we're not holding our breath (and skeptics please note - it's not 'cop out' to subscribe to that theory and it fits quite well into what we know about Aboriginal beliefs and the various otherworldly attributes of the yowie).
Cheers,
Ruby

I don't know about anyone else, but all I could hear clearly was Dean's first words "I've got trouble" and "get back!"
My hearing is pretty dodgy anyway, but I still couldn't make head or tail of the rest of this, unfortunately.
What I can hear though, is the absolute fright in Dean's voice and his vocalisations.
I guess a transcript from someone is out of the question, as some of you have advised there is some behaviour that might not be seen as favourable on this soundbyte.
Still, it's good to hear what I DID hear. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever, that Dean certainly had the pants scared off him at the time, it's unmistakeable in his voice.
Thanks, Mike

Thanks guys.
What I should have done in retrospect, is a double barrel roll with a half twist and triple side kick. Just did not think of of it time. Darn it all - where was my head??? OR my RPG for that matter.......
Easy to laugh about it now, however not at the time.
Plans are to head back there soon, as too some of our others. Now according to Neil in another nasty email, we even made up the footprints - go figure. Also driving a BMW is a crime!
SAID IT BEFORE AND WILL SAY IT AGAIN - AUDIO FROM 15 SECS PRIOR SULPHUR TO THE END OF THE SHOUTING UP THE HILL..................... To be fair to the group - that is all is required.

Finally.....

....... we get to hear what happened.....

....... or did we???
Was that the actual recording or was it edited somehow?

It didn't sound like anything was edited to me.
As for the question I asked about the surrounding wildlife..... well, all I heard were crickets.
Does anybody know where exactly the recording devices were? Was there only one device working at that particular time?
Dean, I believe you mentioned that it was near, or in the campsite next to your radio.....
Was that the same recording that you speak of, but just a different part or edited or whatever, or is there another recording from a different device?
Ok, thats all of my questions for now.

Hi Trev,
Yes that was only a small snippit. A small one with a lot of background noise as you said.
First radio patch was when I was describing the Sulphur, second was when I heard it coming over the mountian and of course that was a the third. The mic would have heard me telling the guys which way it went before we all went after it, but we didn't get that far in the audio. I was on and off the button. When I first heard it I didn't realise there was so much cricket noise. Really masks a lot unfortunatley.
A minute prior and a couple of minutes after would have been good, but at the end of the day, it doesn't prove anything.

I just read through the forums after a week or two - this animosity happens in every group at some time. I agree with Dean - this is your site and people should respect that. If someone has more experience and disagree's with you let them start their own group from scratch , not sledge you guys. I'm blown away by the emnity and bitterness that has come out of it. I'm a minister and all I can offer at this point is prayer for all involved and encouragement to any who seek to divide, let go of your pride and anger and support the long suffering experts in what they do so together you can actually achieve much more.
Anyway, that's all I have to say, God bless you all, Pastor Baz.

Thanks Bush Baby, I hate conflict

But I also know it can be healthy when dealing with issues. But this has moved from healthy to divisive and I know the effort that Dean and his team have put into this for many years, along with Mike Wiliiams et al and my angle is how do we work together to support these guys in their research rather than pulling everything apart. I've seen it kill Churches, sporting clubs etc and I hate seeing it here.
And finally BB...May the Lord bless you and your family on this beautiful day.

I certainly hope that you gentlemen can get your house in order, regardless of ownership. It makes any kind of even handed debate impossible and even irrelevant.
If I were in your shoes, I would be doing my utmost to present a united front, not a rowdy fractious one. This is the public viewing area of the Yowie fraternity, and right now, its 'aint looking as good as it should.. Debate and disagreement are excellent ways of finding common ground, provided they are conducted with even the smallest measure of civility.
To all concerned, play the ball, not the man.
Or not. It's up to you obviously. I certainly know which option will gain you the most respect from the crowd and the opposition.

...hey Dean ...hey Joe... how did I do with the transcript?... was it accurate or have I got anything wrong (apart from not putting names to it... I wasn't sure who was who so I didn't put them to it... thanking you in advance Joe for the editing to come)... please people... if you have different ideas to what I've written... just quote the time and put in what you think was said... it will make it a lot easier to re-edit... e.g...
0:36 -
"I've got bowel trouble... I've got bowel trouble... **garbled** I'm poohing my pants... I'm poohing my pants... **garbled shouting**
...yeah I know ... a pathetic attempt at humour but hey... what the hell?

... just to keep things in perspective here for anyone wanting a transcript of the whole 7 hours of tape... because I had to keep playing things over and over and over again to make sense of what was said using my Zalman headphones... and then type it all out... this sound grab which goes for less than 2 minutes in total... took me about 2 hours to do from the start until put to print!... mind you... somebody else may be a lot quicker than this old fart but when you think of it... for me...the cycle takes
me roughly about an hour for each minute of tape...
...so 1 minute = 1 hour transcribing and typing...
...60 minutes = 60 hours of transcribing and typing...
7 hours (420 minutes) = 420 hours of transcribing and typing...
...so anybody willing to sit down and do all 7 hours of transcribing... good luck!!!... it won't be me that's for sure

... so there you go people... cheers... Stickyfingers.

I suggest you all have two options.
1) Keep the dirty laundry out of public view
2)Lay all the cards on the table, and discuss it without the need to hurl any faeces. I would have thought that most of the participants in this particular disagreement had grown out of that habit around 4 or 5 years old.
Option 1) would be much easier, but option 2) may save some relationships.

and the oooooo is actually me saying "don't leave me alone" lol Everyone immediately got up and ran towards deans voice and mossy the 5 foot nothing armed with only Mikkas torch got a little worried
The only other thing that Mikka says that I can pick out is..."oh great" = "oh...alright" (as in, we're coming) The rest was from other people.
I hope that helps

This is why most people don't come out and tell anyone of there encounter (Just like Myself) because of the ridicule, being called a liar from people you don't even know.
