Yes this is something i wonder about a lot.
I believe that they would live to an age simular to most people in world.
Dont know though. For some reason i'd like to believe they live longer then humans.

It depends on whether or not you would classify them as being purely Flesh and Blood or Paranormal

if the yowie has a genetic link to gorillas and orangutans then it would be likely to live to an average age of 45, one orangutan lived to 60 in captivity but with the gorilla its too early to know as they havent been in captivity long enough and they have only been observed in the wild since the late sixtys.
they are said to start deteriating in health and fitness at the age of 35, with symptoms such as arthritis and loss of teeth, which would lead to starvation unless they are fed and nursed by their mates, as in the case of the gorillas. which works well for a large gorilla clan, but who knows how much family support a yowie has.
anyway could be totally different, again who knows.

Cool new avatar Chewy! Patty never looked so good!
My supposition is that Yowies may have a relatively short lifespan, as they may fall prey to things like parasite burdens, worn down teeth, reduced acuity of vision and hearing etc just like other primitive peoples can.
If asked, I'd think they may make it to 50 or so? I recall some folks discussing grey Yowies on another thread, and there, posters were speculating as to whether Yowies 'go grey' like humans (and reminiscent of gorilla 'silverback' males too) with age.
Kind regards,
Shazz

Hi Bush Baby,
As you may know, I am a skeptic. However, please understand that I respect and defend your right to suggest and/or believe in whatever theories you care to propose.
With that said, the flaw (from my perspective) in your assertion that yowies may be aliens (or alien experiments) is that you first have to accept that aliens, i.e. extra-terrestrial, extra-dimensional or not-of-earth creatures must also exist.
I'm afraid that after sixty long years of fervent and exhaustive research by government agencies and UFOlogists alike, nobody has ever managed it (conspiracy theories aside).
There was a quite good documentary on the ABC last Wednesday titled "An Alien History of Earth" produced by Nick Cook, who whilst skeptic presented a fair, balanced and non-judgemental lineage of UFO/Alien phenomena since WWII. It tracked 'foo fighters, through Nazi experimentation, Roswell, US Spy Planes, the Zamora (Soccoro) encounter and Travis Walton abduction'. Unfortunately two hours was a bit brief to do all of this justice and the show did jerk around the timeline a bit.
Nick Cook is a highly experienced Aerospace Journalist/Commentator and has written/editted for Janes Defence Weekly and his opinions have been sought widely by governments. In the end he concedes that there are still a handful of unexplained cases.
On the whole though, there is no proof only lots of supposition for the existence of ETs and yowies alike. As such to draw a link between them might be attractive but from the skeptical point of view, doubly unlikely.
Regards
