Hello all

I've read and followed these forums occassionally for the past few years and I've finally decided to join in..... When I was young (eight and younger say 35 years ago) my parents ,sisiters and I used to camp every August school holidays out of Urbenville in Northern NSW. When I say camp I mean in a basic hut with no electricity in the middle of no where borfering on the Lamington National Park (actually I think my uncle actually had a lease on this land from the park service. I remember lots of weird sounds and bumps in the night, dingos, roos, snakes, feral cats etc. It wasn't until years later that I started reading stories of yowie sightings in nearby Woodenbong. Are there still sightings in these areas?
Also, I read in a book a few years ago about a family of dairy farmers at Gilston near Nerang (Gold Coast) who saw a possible yowie and footprints at the edge of the Nerang River that ran through their property...I couldn't believe when I read the name McKavanagh as this was more of my relatives!
Unfortunately all these "participating" people have since passed so I can't ask the questions I want though when I did ask my father years ago he said it was him roaming around as he didn't shave when he was down there and grew a reddish brown beard.
As you can see I've had a long association with Yowie's (I just didn't know it at the time).

Well that's it for my first post...will try and pop in more regularly and keep up to date.

Bye
