...funniest quote by an AYR member within these Forums...

Unread post by stickyfingers »

...I've just had an idea inspired by AussieTrev's comment on the... "Cultural Bias: Bigfoot Lost in Translation" ...thread within the Yowie section... maybe because of the rather witty things that people sometimes say that crack people up whether intentional or unintentional that have merit as a "quote of the day or month or year" ... that perhaps we should start up a thread dedicated to these sometimes absolute gems that pop up? (smart a**) (thumb up) ...

...just a thought... perhaps Dean or Lasso can put up a prize at the end of each year such as an AYR T-Shirt or something as a Prize for what is deemed by other AYR members as the "best-quote-of-the-year" after putting up a poll and voted for by all the other members of AYR forums... the prize sent to the winner as a sort of Christmas present from AYR (woot) ... perhaps we could even call the prize... the (cool) "Deano" (cool) ... or something similar... what do you think Dean/Lasso???... any chance of this idea taking off???...

...the quotes can be either funny or dead serious statements regardless... some rules apply though...

(1) keep it nice... don't use this well intentioned idea to intentionally ridicule people...

(2) don't use it to "get back" at people...

(3) put a (lol) smilie face or two (lol) to let the person know that it is done in fun only (rad) (happy) ...

...there are probably a couple of others that I can't think of at the moment but I'm sure that you all know what I mean... remember this is a light-hearted thread purely for the fun aspect of it... please... treat it as so (thumb up) ... that being said... I'll start the ball rolling with AussieTrev's little gem...
...It is the same as if you or I saying that we 'flew' to the shops in a hurry... we didn't actually fly there, but we did say that we flew! ... or if I said that I was so hungry I could eat a horse... I don't actually want to eat a horse!! (although when I was young, I thought that corned-beef was made from horse - bloody older sisters) ...
...funny as (lol) (jest) (claps)... well there you have it... does anybody else have any views on this idea... does the idea have any merit at all???... have fun... cheers... Stickyfingers. (cool) (jest)

This would have to be the funniest quote here.

Muppets.......... Being kept down in the same grade for two decades is nothing to be ashamed about. We are all proud of you.

A 5th grade education is better than nothing, it provides a window for a vocation of cleaning chimmey's. It's a niche market that you can capitalise on.

I heard from you English Teacher that you stated that a "Loonatic" was someone who had a Tic during a full moon. You received a pat on the head and a D+ for the effort..... We always welcome incouraging words from your Teacher to help you to move forward.

Perhaps you take my quote to your art teacher and they can draw you a picture? We can always provide a dot to dot on A3 paper to assist you with your homework.

We only wish to help. Any further questions regarding large words of 3 or more silabuls, please dont hesitate to ask (some one else on another board!)......

Thats syllables, Dean, but I guess you knew that.
My formaly first funniest choice is now my second.
Thanks Dean, for your new material.
It's great.
You have missed your true vocation.
You waste your talents as a hacky sack for strange ape like cryptobeasts.
You should be on the radio, or better still, the comedy channel. Though that might be a bit lowbrow for a raconteur of your calibre.
It's truly clever the way you personalize your biting jibes and rapier like barbs. I can tell you must have a high level of understanding of the English language and its subtle nuances. When I was a child, I was flogged daily with my father's razor strop, but it is all to apparent that you Dean, used your father's razor strop to sharpen your clearly razor sharp wit.
Such are your all to apparent talents, Dean, that I suspect that you are in fact, the author of this site;

http://www.weaselwords.com.au/index3.htm
such is your skill in the use of the language.
Bravo, sir!
I shall sleep all the sounder, knowing that you and your large knives protect the innocent.

Marius is presently on an overseas posting, though he assures me you are still close to his heart, and looks forward to renewing his friendship with you at the earliest opportunity.

...DON'T PEOPLE UNDERSTAND???...

...seriously... this is supposed to be a FUN thread!!!! (curse) ... all that other nitpicky schitt (steamer) can be shovelled through some of the more volatile threads within these forums okay??? (burnt up) ... this is a FUN thread!!!!... how about trying to keep it that way eh??? (no brains) ... it would be nice to have at least ONE thread where we can all be nice to each other and get back to the once "good-old-days" where we all had a good laugh for a change!!!!... shame on people for dragging the good intentions of this thread down to a pathetic level of bickering schitt!!!! (no no) ... now loosen up people and have the decency to take this thread in the good spirit that I intended it to be!!!... PLEASE!!!!!!! ... as a personal favour to me if you wish... thankyou... ...Muppets my friend... the idea of this thread is that it is open for light hearted fun... the quote that you put up was dealt with in another thread in previous times gone by... it actually turned into a rather volatile exchange of words between both sides... but that is old news... I was hoping for other... newer... input that hasn't been brought up before from recent and other older posts such as what Lasso brought up about Dean... and as for Dean being exempt...

...well this obviously means that he isn't exempt... I really do appreciate your input into these forums Muppets my friend... your views and opinions are always refreshing posts for me to read... I hope that you keep on posting your thoughts and ideas to keep these forums alive and kicking and find other great quotes to add to this thread... if anything... you have probably added more interest into this thread than it probably would have had up until now and for that I thank you... now moving on... please everybody... let's keep this as a fun thread peoples... the only other thread that invokes pure fun is the "Avatar's" thread... how about we keep this one along the same lines as that... remember... happy vibes!... cheers... I was being tongue in cheek Sticky.

I have posted this before, but will again. This is my all time favorite post from Byteman"

"We all know that Glasshouse is where the Yowie is at and I plan to go for a camping expedition there sometime in the next few weeks. I intend to have female companions ONLY on this trip and may even consider meeting some of your travel costs if you're from interstate. Pleae PM me with your particulars and most importantly remember to include a photo of yourself".

Wasn't that a treat! The sadest aspect of the post is the fact that he was actually serious!!! He didn't last long.......

Mike Williams nominated this as quote of the week in another thread, so I thought I'd move it to the appropriate thread and rightly so.. (thumb up)

Nah, my vote is for one of Strange2's pearlers: As follows:

"if we all thought like them we'd all still be living in damp caves eating grubs for dinner."

I'm sure there are others, but Lasso and Dean's exchange a while back about chapped lips etc had me rolling around with laughter. No idea which thread it was in though.
Some people on this forum are very quick witted indeed!

Kind regards,
Shazz

...two little pearlers from none other than Dr Scream himself... the first one from the "Monster Quest... Sasquatch Attack" thread...
Just goes to show you what little it takes to get supposedly cutting edge scientists talking like they just found the Holy Grail. A couple of small rocks on the metal roof, and log against the cabin is all. I wonder how they might have reacted if they got a bigfoot to materialize inside of their cabin, give them all a kiss on the cheek, and then disappear before their very eyes, all on camera. That would probably have ended up on the cutting room floor, never to be spoken of again.
...and not to mention from the... "Infrasound" thread... this little gem with two little rippers within the same paragraph...

In lieu of hanging pheromone chips from trees, try hanging a fresh fish. It's cheaper, natural, and more effective. Instead of the the yowie smelling the wind and saying to himself "jeez, what is that stink? I know I took a bath just last month so it is not me." The yowie will instead say "Wow, I smell a free dinner! Finally, the humans have figured out that we can't eat plastic!"
...keep them coming Doc... classic stuff my friend... classic stuff! (lol) (rad) ... cheers... Stickyfingers. (cool) (happy) (jest)
