Tree Knocking

there was abit of tree knocking in the movie 'sasquatch' that came out awhile ago. And they were waking a tree constantly with a deer antler. I think this is to communicate to other bigfoot.

Yeah, i've heard that too. Haven't seen the movie though.. Lance Henrikson isn't one of my favourite actors.
But yeah, I think it's basically saying, "psst, i'm over here" kind of thing. I've also heard they bang rocks together. Or that bass sound yowies make.

If we believe the old Tarzan movies, African natives used to comunicate by beating drum messages. If the Yowie is intelligent then they may have been using this as a way to pass on warning or calling back members of the family group that are out of 'shouting' range. The tree banging maybe isn't so much a warning to 'keep out' as it is a signal of' someones comming'

Tree knocking can also be a search for food. Some primates tap logs and trees to locate grubs and insects beneath the bark.

omg..this was a really dodgy movie...the sasquatch/yowie (whatever you want to call it) looked NOTHING like what I pictured it to be...I imagine it to be more like Chewbacca from Star Wars..covered with hair..not like in the movie where its knees and elbows were hairless and SUPER smooth...it was just really hard to belive that that story was true...you know how it said that is was based on a true story and stuff...I highly doubt it...just too much that didnt make sense..why would someone in their right mind destroy a piece of technology like that? why didnt the yowie thing just destroy it itself? and the blood on the rock as well...there was no blood on the bear...it had its neck broken...not broken OPEN...I dunno...just very unbeliveable from my point of view...no wonder they sent the guy to that mental hosptial place...

Yeh I agree mate. Was a very dogde movie. I was watching the comentary on it and the people who made it didn't even belive in bigfoot. And it was originly called the Untold. Unfortunatly the guy who did the costume died of stomach cancer not a week before finishing. Thats why in the end shots there was no hair on the legs and arms. As much as I like lance H., he shouldn't have been in there. I admit, I liked the first half.

You obviously don't realise just how many witnesses have explained to us over the years, "It looked just like Cewbacca from Star Wars...."
It's very common.
Regardless of your Movie, it is a trend for people to explain the creature this way.
In regard to tree knocking, it is without doubt communication. We've had enough first hand experience to know this.
The grubs can be heard with our ears if we listen to the side of the trees outside the holes - especially at night.
I've witnessd it.
He walked up to each tree, felt the sides and spent time listening before walking to the next.

Chewbacca from Star Wars seems a pretty fitting description.
8 foot tall, covered in hair, fangs. What more can you ask for?

When I think of bigfoot I envision Chewbacca...like, you know how people tell a story and you have your own way of imagining whats happening and the scenery and characters etc? well, I imaging Chewbacca as bigfoot...well...chewbacca-ish...

So I take it the star rating for Sasquatch is around 1 star out of 5. Interestingly enough I have not been able to rent the movie at my local Video Ezy, due to the two copies being consistently out!
I did however rent a movie called Frakenfish -A Horror Movie that revovles around a deadly genetic cross of salmon and a chinese water snake, which is released into the waterways.
Verdict - worst movie ever!
