BIGCATS-IT SEEMED LIKE A GREAT CASE ..UNTIL

It Seemed like a good case until..
The guy said he knew his animal tracks, and had found odd kills on his property..and he photographed some footprints..they were emailed to 1 zoologist who specialised in bigcats and 1 vet who also specialised in big cats,Both said leopard sized cat and one National Park ranger who said it was not a dog....when I cast the print and popped them out..it was 100% macropod, probably wallaby..the angle in the photo made it look like 3 lobes at the back..but it was a shadow ...it was 2 feet landing right next to each other which caused the image to look like 1 large print..subject/land owner became quite aggro when I showed him the cast of a wallaby and told him it was not a cat...he then told me to stick it up my $#%@.
Witness claimed to have seen a jaguar sized animal and filmed 22 minutes of jaguar and cubs near Victorian border, named Shooters who had seen the footage and one public servant..said they were all blown away.Wanted me to help him get big $$ for footage.Drove about 1,000km and met mr top secret in small town.Rang girlfriend and told him thenumber plates of car I was following because the guy would not tell em the address of his house..made me meet him at a service station.
Showed some video at single frame by frame...for a few minutes of trees and rocks..and logs..at a distance..I mentioned that I wanted to see the jaguar and cub footage..he looked at me and said" thats it".
The retard had seen a cat..come back and filmed 22 minute of footage waving the camera round..and thought the logs/trees/rocks? etc looked cat like...When I was leaving (shattered) he said he sometimes had trouble telling the difference between reality and fantasy..then suggested that when he sees something odd..he gets a knife and cuts his arm..if the cut is there the next day...then the "vision" was real..on that note..I fled..
A farmer/witness got drunk and I drove him home, he had recently had some interesting sightings near his land..he then decided to try and wrestle the wheel from me so that he could drive from the passenger side down this steep incline screaming out "you are doing it wrong you %$#@^% idiot".
10pm at night..I fled with my tent..since he was drunk..and had an arsenal of guns and was barking mad from medication and alcohol...
witnesses near Mudgee had a wombat killed by a "bigcat",we Picked the carcasss up to be examined by a biologist later.
Witnesses claimed they had been on the property the whole time..
Animal had really deep "cannine" marks in its skull and was cleaned out..
Witnesses started making threatening phone calls saying "any money for the story is &^%$ our money".
The "biologist" arrived in his van and even though the "cannines" holes were about 50mm into the skull said "big cat has killed this animal".
Vet was dragged out...popped out 2 bullets from skull...damn
Witnesses had lied..neighbour had run over wombat and put it out of its misery..by shooting it twice in its head..on a road that ran through their property whilst they had been out..
Wallaby cleaned out and killed in early morning, very surgical like...did not look dog attack at all.Witness did a report within one hour of finding intact animal to cleaned out animal .Dept of primary industries staff member came
and said the report was not any good because it was not "contemporaneous(done in a decent time interval from incident)HUH..
We pointed out the many historical records are done years later...not minutes..!!
We swabbed the carcass for dna from killers saliva.National parks swabbed as well.
Saliva sent to a private scientist for a canid -yes/no test which is the simplest.
First result=not canid.
Dept primary industry didnt like it...they said"bad luck, we have used up all the saliva".
But..the scientist said he still had enough saliva for another test.
second result=not canid.
Dept of primary industries didnt like that.
They then "remembered" they still had some saliva from the kill..this was sent out of state to a different contractor.
Result=Canid.
Dept of primary industry liked that and said. "waste of time, differing results".
And people wonder why we are cynical...
