Fox killed and cat scat

The skull is of a recently? killed fox which had cat scats around it.
It was filmed in High definiton and I can see a slight problem with some form of frame rate glitch when I change the hd format which is mpeg 2 and then compress it to H264 which is mpeg 4.
I also have a nasty habit of moving the damn camera round really too quickly.. (no brains)
At least the cats are killing rabbits and foxes....on this specific property..
Nice tip Deadpool re video!!I just made the video player smaller as well.

That skull on the ground looked far from recently killed. Can you tell us more about this video? State, time of year and what makes you sure its cat scat.

Curious...

That skull on the ground looked far from recently killed.
Possibly within the last month or two...
Can you tell us more about this video?
I filmed it about 2 days before it was posted here in a state forest/farm area which has large amount of cat sightings..
State
Yes (happy)
time of year
see above..
and what makes you sure its cat scat.
1/Location of scats...in area rich with bigcat sightings...
2/The jumble of bones/fur etc in the scats..
3/I have Previously handled large exotic cat scats..dont ask. (woot)
4/The learned opinion of the hunter with me..
5/I have only encountered these types of scats in 3 "small"areas after 8 years of scouring farms/forest from Atherton Tablelands in QLD to South Australia.
Could the fox have died a natural death..sure.. (smart a**)
Are the scats of a large carnivore...sure.
Do they look like dog/fox to me...not really..
Speculation is the name of the game with cryptids.. (thumb up)

Have you eliminated all other possibilities of the scat being of non large feline origin?
It is not only big cats that might eat birds.

Hi Fred...what other possibilities not mentioned in my post are you thinking of.
I wouldn't rule out canines or feral cats. Assuming that the hand pointing to the scat is of normal proportions, then the scat appears to be well within the range of known predators.

I am not saying that it cannot have been a "Big Cat", but other speculations cannot be 100% ruled out, even by someone as experience as yourself, Mike.

Just for the record, I am a big cat believer.

Hey Fred
Here is another view of a scat.

The coin is 1 and 1/2 " wide.
I wouldn't rule out canines or feral cats.

Canid...for the size..sure..
I just dont know if normal(accepted) sized f.cattus can drop this size scat.
I own 2 cats and the larger male has never done anything this big.
When i say big cat..I am obviously not talking lion/tiger/jag etc..I am talking 15 kg + felids..
Hell..I would be quite happy for 15kg cat wandering round for video taping..
Assuming that the hand pointing to the scat is of normal proportions, then the scat appears to be well within the range of known predators.
It was a very large hand.. (jest)
The hand does not go anywhere near the scat..so you cannot get any form of perspective..
I am not saying that it cannot have been a "Big Cat", but other speculations cannot be 100% ruled out
Of course...I would need to film the cat...or at least see the cat...
It looks like the same scats we have found in the grosevale area which we have sent away to the elected NSW govt specialists.
The "best" response was "large carnivore..not dog.."
even by someone as experience as yourself, Mike.
The "experience" means I get to make more mistakes than others...I find many elements of the phenomena quite baffling.. (happy)

Mike, I have also seen scat that looks like that. It was only 6-12 months ago on a 19,000 acre property in mid north SA. The scat was similar size and length (from what I can tell)

I could see hair/fur clumps all through it and assumed it was one of the feral dogs/dingo in the area. I have personally witnessed a wild dog chasing a pack of around 6 kangaroos on this property. Could the scat be wild dog?

Edit to add: Yes, I will be taking a camera on the next trip out there this weekend.

Well, it was slow going out there due to all the recent rain. I didnt get a chance to cover much gound but did manage to get a photo of an animal that may have been making some "deposits" in the area.

He was only just above average size but was really fat and looked like he was busting for a c**p.
