Re: Mystery creature sighted - orang pendak?
I`m thinking it must be hard doing research in these areas because of the native animals (Orangutans in Sumatra) that already exist there.
Same as North America - a lot of the Bigfoot areas are also areas with Bear populations (or have had bears habitating the area in previous years/decades). This would be a huge curve ball for the researchers because they would have to seriously consider whether the person has mistaken BF for a bear! And then you would have the added burden that the general public will 99% of the time dismiss BF reports as people simply mistaking bears for BF!
I think thats the beauty of Australian reports! There is no equilavent creature (maybe the odd cow or roo) with the same characteristics or dimensions which could explain away visual sightings of the Yowie!
Actually, I tell a lie. Forgot about the bloody Drop Bears!!!! My bad. lol

Rules of debunking
Any conventional explanation is better than none.
Don`t bother me with the facts my mind is made up.
If one can`t attack the data, attack the people, it is easier!
Do one`s research by proclamation; investigation is too much trouble.

Re: Mystery creature sighted - orang pendak?
The bee in my bonnett over the past several years is the discovery of Homo Florensis on the wee island of Flores, i have attended several lectures that Mike Moorwood has run they talk about the Hobbits probable stature and that its arms were longer than normal, it had very large feet in proportion to its body, that it probably was able to ambulate Quadrapedaly and Bipedialy as easy as each other., its head jutted slightly forward..im thinking this sounds like North Australias " Jungadee " or Brungigit as its called in Arhnem Land, Aboriginal people talk about the hairy man that inhabits areas near the coast...now..these days. After his find on Flores Prof Moorwood followed a trail of bones to Timor and PNG, he now is focusing on the top of Oz...........is it the same critter, Is Homo Florensis our little yowie?................Dean, Mike, Chewy can you folks just sort this one out for me...shouldn't take ya long......good on ya blokes
