Just stumbled across this footage on You Tube and was wondering if anyone knew about it. No t sure whether the guy who put it up is the real deal or whether its just another You Tube Hoax for the collection?

Yet another one.......

Is it right to claim its wrong, is it wrong to claim its right? Nobody will ever know from that footage.

I wasn't overly comfortable with the girls body language, but who's to say.

Id like to see one of our talented photo/video-ologists ahve a crack at enlarging the footage, as for the behaviour of the girl/actress well....coulda been the genuine scared thing, but hey it could be the real deal folks.....could end up being the next " patterson footage "

the girls facial expression gives it away to me, id expect a scream or yelling, not the smile as she gets back down the bank (taz)

Yep as everyone suspected this is a hoax. I sent the guy a personal email asking for further details and he replied back that it was a hoax. Apparently its just someone dressed up in a Chewbacca suit. What I find strange though is that he is still putting comments on the wall which imply that its legit footage. He obviously has to much time on his hands!!!

Nice investigative work, SAB8!

Just to be clear, is he saying it's a hoax in that the girls knew someone was dressing up in a chewbacca suit and they orchestrated the whole thing? Or is he saying it's a hoax in that he believes it is an unknown person playing a prank on the girls, dressed in a chewbacca suit? If the latter, has the unknown person in the suit now come forward? If not legitimate, either it's a practical joke caught on camera or it's a hoax for the youtube viewing public.

Seeing as you've already established a repoir with the girl's father, SAB8, could you seek clarification on the above?

Yer joe

I was wondering the same thing. I sent him an email straight back yesterday asking if he could clarify that issue. He has not replied at this stage. From his comments on You Tube he seems to be suggesting that there was no prior knowledge (I`m a little confused why he hasn`t yet mentioned on You Tube that the 'Yowie' in the footage is actually a bloke dressed up. He seems to be stringing people along! I also asked him why he hasn`t disclosed this on You Tube?). I haven`t heard back from him at this stage and don`t think I will. From what I`ve learnt and by the way the girls acted on the film I am of the opinion that they definitely had prior knowledge. I`m going to keep pestering him (in a nice way - lol) until he gives me more information and/or clarifies on You Tube that the footage is a hoax!

My harrassment will be his hoaxing Karma!!! lol :)

Joe I have been able to confirm that this guy actually planned and carried out the hoax. The reason he gave in his own words were:

"I am making a short film (with students and others) about the Yowie. We are trying to raise awareness by putting teasers out there on youtube and other media"

My email back to him explained that his hoaxed footage and others like it would not raise awareness but would in fact promote further doubt and cyncism amongst an already doubting public in regards to the validitity of the Yowie phenomenon.

He further wrote to me:

"note we have at no time claimed it's real but always left a questionmark as to veracity. It's up to you whether you wanna blow our cover or not. Hopefully you won't!"

I pointed out to him that although he has not claimed that it is real he has made misleading comments which imply that the footage is authentic!!! Hopefully after he has conducted his bizarre experiment (or has had his fun) he will acknowledge that the footage is a hoax

Great work, SAB8!!

He promotes awareness in his ultra low low low budget short film doco and HOAXING. He'd might as well have kicked off his "teaser" showing his film student lover zipping up his own suit! At the same time, exactly as you said, "promote further doubt and cyncism amongst an already doubting public in regards to the validitity of the Yowie phenomenon." These people all share a belief that any promotion is good promotion! Pitiful acting, poorer camera work, and the lamest looking hairy suited novice actor in the background - such a tease!

Next time you PM him SAB8, politely point out a teaser can make or break a film, but then, how can you break a Z Grade production?

Cheers Joe

I just want to wrap this forum up by adding a couple of points.

The guy who put the footage up told me he would declare it was a hoax and he has came through and did just that. Even though I totally disagree with his aims I have got to applaud him on his cooperation. The guy responded to all my emails (eventually) and a rationale discussion took place without any nastiness from both parties. In the end he saw my point of view and where I was coming from and actually ended up agreeing with me. So in that regards I`ve got to thank the guy involved (in case he is reading these forums).

Also I think I`ve learnt a lesson from this one. At times I was tempted to have a dig at him but withheld myself. I am now left pondering whether I would have got as much cooperation if I had of given into this temptation. I think not. So this has left me thinking that maybe we should try and be a little more patient with the cynics; the misguided; the ignorant; or people trying to discredit the subject (or as is the case many times - all of the above - lol). I know that is easier said than done and probably the majority of them would still not be convinced even if we presented them with a living-breathing yowie but I was encouraged from this episode that a little civil discussion and patience from both parties resulted in what I believe was a positive outcome.

Ha ha ha

Unbelievable - as soon as I put this post up I come across a cynic with a vendetta and just end up giving him an absolute blast. MY BAD - (oops) ! Ha ha ha its always the way. Maybe I should have said try and be patient and civil 95% of the time- lol. My patience and civilness does have a limit after all. I guess sainthood is out of the question now! (2guns)

A trash bag blowing in the wind? That's up there with the best of them!

Considering those trail cameras are only activated by a moving heat source in the temperature range of most warm blooded animals, I don't see what else in the photo could have triggered the camera? If the dark shape triggered the camera, then the shape must have been radiating heat. The last trash bag I saw radiating heat was in a wheelie bin fire!

Unlike typical blobsquatch photos, in this one, the head, both arms, and part of the upper torso, are clearly defined. There even looks like muscle shape in the shoulders. Looks pretty good to me, so far! Good one, Strange2! The bean picking Sasquatch - why the hell not?

Yer, this ones a doozy. If you go through the forum link I put up I`m sure you`ll find some pretty good arguments in regards to what it is. From what I`ve read about this photo so far I`m going to have to lean towards the unfocused crow theory. Maybe if the guy had found supporting evidence such as footprints in or around his garden than I probably would lean back towards BF.

I think I raised this question in that BFF thread as well - if you're having problems with something eating your beans, why go and set up a deer feeder beside your garden? (That's what the tripod is).

BTW - as much as it pains me to say it, I'm going with the crow as well...

Bird...maybe

Original image from the CNN Footage
Image

After sharpening up the image a little bit the object does come away from the back ground and looks a lot closer than the original looks. It also looks like a shadow directly underneath the "bird"...?
Image

I'm still 50/50 on this....BF or Bird?

Hmpf! It was looking pretty good last time I checked - how quickly these things tend to sour! Just goes to show they don't like to give the entire picture the first time, just to emphasize the mysterious side!

Why oh why, did the guy not have the camera set to capture a series of photos at any one time with a one or two second time gap between each one??? Or video?? That would surely have verified a bird or other. Instead of doing so, he has rushed to the media who have now stomped all over the site, and once again we'll never know for sure!

At least this one could be just a misidentification!!
